Afrihost mobile data price cuts

Meh.

Vodacom works out cheaper than Afrihost these days. Yes you have to sign a 24 month contract, but for 3 + 3 gig you pay R169.00 wheras with Afrihost you get 3gig only for a higher price, well, 4gig now.

Sure, the other 3gig with Vodacom can only be used after midnight or something, but if you can schedule your downloads then it comes in handy.

Good. Let the price war commence.

edit : I don't want to sign a 24-month contract, I want to be on prepaid, so as to avoid OOB...

Afrihost has announced it is revamping its mobile data packages, with existing clients getting up to 100% more data than they currently receive for the same price.
The article fails to mention that the higher packages get no increase at all.

Clients on higher packages will also receive more data
No they don't. :(

When I saw the headline for that article I became so happy but nothing changed for me.

Kewl.. hrm might downgrade as i dont use current allotted amount already haha.

@AfriGuy Any chance group sharing service coming (i.e. like MTN's newly created one)? Kinda the only reason i don't have all mobile data with Afrihost.

@AfriGuy

When do the new packages take effect? Beginning of next month or immediately?
Reason I ask is that the new package name is reflected in my connectivity dashboard, but it still shows the old data allowance.

Data sharing is something that's been on the cards since day 1, it's just a matter of finalising the details :) I believe there are some technical hurdles we need to jump over first - but it's definitely something that we're looking into!

Thanks. Great service and even better prices.
