Thank you AfriMan!

It's good to know that things are changing! On my own site being down is an email and no website issue... However, I have a business partner who often has corrupted SQL databases as a result of the up's and down's!

Hey! The Commodore C64 was state of the art once! :)

Just give me a shout if you have problems - I'll always be happy to help if I can :)

I know this is off topic but I'm desperate. I have posted a thread in the mobile broadband section but I'm impatient. I have a netgear dgn 2200 telkom branded router and a huawei e3131 modem but the router reports its a unsupported usb device. the latest firmware which I have on that said router says it supports the device. What to do?

That's a tough one, I know some Huawei devices we tested did work with the DGN2200, not sure that we tested that model though. I think this is probably a question for the Netgear forums or helpdesk :(

arent there at commands i can use to set it to modem only mode and will that work ?

My speeds are not bad, what i would like however is to go past a week or so without being told i'm capped and everything breaking when i still have 20GB left and then have to phone the call center to "reset" my data usage...

See some movement on the mobile side in the clientzone, ramping up to launch?

You and me both I have had issues with this a few times..... been better lately but drove me up the walls a few weeks ago.

There are two versions of the Huawei E3131 the standard version (which uses Mobile Partner) or HLink which is driven via a browser interface. If you have the HLink version, it's pretty unlikely that the Netgear Router will support it...

I got it to work by using this AT command AT^SETPORT="FF;1"

The trouble was that the normal command that is suppose to set it to modem only was giving me error messages.

We're working reducing the number of times this happens, in fact we've made huge progress in that area already. We'll keep cracking on until we can make that specific error a thing of the past :(

I have a friend who we placed onto Afrihost Mobile with a pre-pay SIM.

Now because the SIM has been used for Afrihost Data only, MTN in their infinite wisdom have turned the SIM off.

I'm now told by support that it's not possible for you to move my data to the new SIM we RICA'ed for him.

Is this true???

If both SIMs are with us we should be able to move any un-used data over pretty easily.
Drop me a PM with the deets and I'll get this checked out for you :)

@Afripeople

If the beta testers sign up for a new mobile account do we get the 10GB too?
