I'm getting No Service on my phone but a co-worker who is also with Afrihost is getting full service. I restarted and everything. Unfortunately the Afrihost website seems to be down so I can't contact support.

Sounds like an odd one :( Have you tried cycling aeroplane mode to reset things?
We're having some issues with afrihost.com - but ClientZone and our Support sites are still up and running :)

Had the same issue a while back with iPad and mtn sim ( on afrihost data package). Came down to inactivity of mtn prepaid sim because I did not recharge it within 3 months. Had to cancel and get new sim to reconnect to afrihost. Not sure it relates 100% to your problem. Normally the afrihost team will sort you out in jiffy.

I'm making progress. If I turn off my LTE and set the highest connection speed to 3G then my phone starts working again.Which is pretty weird. Will see tonight when I go home and it connects to a different tower if it will work fine on LTE. :)

*edit*

I don't know why LTE will affect the normal signal of a phone.

Could be that LTE is having issues in the area - is the device setup to force an LTE connection?

I'm having the same problem as Solitude. All of a sudden my telephone (LG G3) iis showing "no service" with Afrihost Mobile. This SIM was delivered by Afrihost a month ago, and has been working without issues up to now.

Multiple reboots have not cured the problem. Disabling LTE has not helped either in my case. Colleague in the same office with same phone but MTN contract is not having any problems.

I filed ticket XHJ-492-28420 on the clientzone (which is broken by the way, you can't file any tickets under "afrihost mobile" because it doesn't allow you to select a product)

2 questions for you AH guys,

I understand I can use any MTN sim to use afrihost? does it have to be rica'd?

and do you have zero based sites with this sim card?

IE on MTN prepaid you get wikipedia (as far as I know) zero rated.
do you have anything like showmax or an equivalent zero rated?

Cycling aeroplane mode seems to have helped with another client I chatted to earlier.
Keep me posted.

Hi :)

Any SIM bought/ used in South Africa needs to be RICA'd. We don't zero-rate any services just yet.

Afrihost delivered it to me.

My active network is showing as: "No network found". If I click on sim settings and select Network Selection it is currently on Automatic where it doesn't find anything to connect to. If I say Search for Network it finds all kind of networks and when I select MTN it doesn't actually connect to it.
I'm having the same issue since this afternoon, sim originally bought from Mtn store and provisioned on Afrihost, works perfectly in a basic Nokia phone but zip/no service in a LG G4.

Just done a sim swop, hoping it will fix it, does the new sim(same number) need to be reprovisioned by Afrihost.

Yeah, we'll have to provision the new SIm. Keep me posted with feedback! :)

I'm now on the other side of Somerset West, so different cell tower. Still no cellular connection whatsoever.

I've switched airplane mode on and off, also changed phone to connect with only 2G. Still no connection.

In my notification area, I now see "Restricted access changed: Voice service is blocked."

My details are in ticket XHJ-492-28420

This must be something on the MTN side. Is there anything you can do about this? I can't call or be called at the moment.
