Or I'm thinking.... Would it be possible for you guys to check whether the data is being used for XBox, Steam or Playstation? If you guys can keep your current pricing but make data that's being used for the downloading of games from those three places free then WOW! Um it's so wow that it will probably not happen but it will make me very happy.

Maybe for an extra fee? Afrihost Plus Plus. A++.

I can then drop my BitCo connection entirely and just go with Afrihost.
 
Afrihost, it's been a while since you had a good market shakeup. How about 100GB for R900 p/m? XBox One games are very large these days and the little data that comes with LTE just isn't enough for today's demanding software.

We're known to pull out surprises any time - so I guess you'll have to keep checking back ;)

Afriguy, is there a problem with Afrihost Mobile? I haven't been able to use mobile data on my Mobile voice contract. I still have enough data on it. I tried the sim on another device, still nothing. I can't access the afrihost website from work so I have no clue what's going on. How do I resolve this?

We’ve noticed that you haven’t connected to your Afrihost Mobile Data via APN for 8 hours on xxxxxxxxxxx@afrihost. This worries us because your device may have reverted to an old APN setting on your device, which means you could be on MTN’s mobile data (and could incur unexpected charges from them). Please check that your APN is still set to “afrihost” and not “myMTN” (or any other setting).

Not seeing any general issues from our end that could be causing this. Is your data maybe capped?

That's pretty odd, could be that you've been assigned an IP that our system hasn't picked up as being ours.
Shoot me a PM with your number and the IP being assigned and I can double check this :)

The only way I could establish if the situation was reversed as per your pm request was to see what happened month end. The whole gig data expired anyway while paid for data was consumed but as I neither requested or paid for it I regard the matter as closed.

Waste of time though and smacks of incompetence.

I do not believe it was an attempted con.

I'm not sure what transpired here, but the free data was definitely intended for you to use and enjoy. If that didn't happen, I am sure something can be worked out here.

Hi AfriGuy,

What's the best way to sign up with Afrihost Mobile and move my Vodacom number? I want an Afrihost Mobile prepaid sim.

EDIT: I'm also going to need an Afrihost 100GB capped package and Afrihost plus.

Yes a bit I think so, don't worry. I am going to cancel my mobile package in this week though, the demand on the towers where I live is just to damn high at anytime of day, but don't worry i'm going to switch over to VDSL :D

Glad to hear that your Mobile speeds improved slightly. :) AWESOME news that you're switching over to VDSL. I'm sure that you won't look back!

Received my data sim and Huawei modem yesterday. A far too long time after the order was placed!
Cannot connect to the internet.
Surely this modem is set up to connect to Afrihost.
Afrihost is not responding to a help sms after many hours (reminds why I left them)!
Please assist.

A question, if I pause my 500 MB per month mobile data, will I still be getting and able to use the 500 MB data which I'm getting per month with Afrihost plus?
 
My turn for a question...

I've just started the port for my spare cell number to MTN Pre-Paid and want to put it on Afrihost Mobile Pre-Paid but I'm concerned that in the past MTN have turned off SIM's with active Afrihost data as they are unaware that they are still in use. Apart from making a call every 60 days or so, how can one assume that the brain dead MTN do not kill an otherwise active SIM card?
