Um, unable to establish connection now. Anyone?

Cannot comment unfortunately. My 2+3 is in hibernation till the December holidays when I'll activate the SIM again. Kept it active for the exam period that ended ... yesterday :(

Connection Failed

Hi everyone,

My first post, so apologies if it is in the wrong thread.

My afrihost MTN simcard arrived yesterday (yay) and I bought an e3551 Huawei device as well.

The modem is lighting up, suggesting it works. But everytime I go to the device admin screen, it says 'Connecting..." for ages, which then turns into "Connection failed. Invalid profile. Contact your" etc.

I am really excited to get up and running with Afrihost, can anyone help?

Thanks!

Check in your connection settings that your apn is set to afrihost and the number to dial is *99#

The whole friggin night. No data connection. I've done countless reboots and toggled the evil LTE switch. What's also interesting is that on my iPad, the Afrihost app just crashes if I try access those same two accounts.

While I lost some data due to being "locked out", I'm happy to report that everything is 100% this morning and of course with new data bundles loaded. :)

Well, it's raining in P.E Walmer Park, and it's quite overcast!, perhaps it's that...

Thanks Ockie,

So it looks like I was running on an automatic MTN APN. Any idea of what to fill into the other fields? So if I create a new 'profile' in the device admin, it requires the following:

Profile Name:
APN:
Username:
Password:

Is it just 'afrihost' and 'password'?

Thanks!

Just put in afrihost for the apn. others leave it blank
