first time trying my AH mobile since I got it at the initial launch, got this result in the central Drakensberg where I usually only get Edge, I have to say I'm suitably impressed

If you usually see EDGE then this is a huge improvement indeed :)
 
I need my Mobile 3 sim connectivity sorted out this weekend. Worked great in my Netgear MBRN3000 after after a few initial issues, but now I'm having issues again. Plugged the Huawei E367 modem directly into my PC & the dashboard only indicated edge coverage. Could it be that my signal has degraded so much that the Netgear Router cannot establish a connection?

If I cannot get it to work, I will have to cancel. It cannot go on like this.
 
So I got my Afrihost sim and the 3G is working perfectly. However I can't seem to connect via LTE even though according to the map I'm in the dead centre of LTE signal. Is there something that I must do to get it enabled? My Vodacom LTE is working perfectly.

I'm using a Huawei Vodafone B2000 router. Is it maybe not compatible with MTN LTE?

Yes I think LTE needs to be activated

You have to request us to provision LTE for now - our SIMS are LTE capable but not pre-provisioned just yet.

Just drop me a PM and I'll get that sorted out for you. Just remember that the SIM and device must be LTE capable (if it's our SIM it will have the LTE logo on it)

Have you tried modifying the firmware on the dongle to run on 3G only? It may be choosing the strongest signal and not necessarily the best speed.

The connection has been behaving since the weekend. Holding thumbs.

Thanks AfriMan. I sent AfriGuy a pm yesterday so hopefully by tonight or tomorrow it will be working with LTE. The 3G is already very fast compared to the 8ta and Cell C 3G that I've used so I can't wait to see what the LTE will be like. :D

LTE should be with you soon :)
 
They installed this Antenna at my house today, but I'm still not impressed. Looks like I am connecting to congested antennae.

crap man :( had reasonable internet speed this morning - could at least load FB with pictures instead of place holders - now the connection gone to hell again!!!

geesus this is pathetic! why is it that my previous 3g mtn sim card could get 3g and this new mtn / afrihost sim can't? can someone explain that to me?

Sorry to hear this. Our SIMs run off exactly the same network, so very strange that you're seeing such different results when using our APN. Have you tried moving the device around?

Does the device connect to 2G or 3G?
All the settings on Auto on the device and not forced to 3G only?
