Anyone know what the delivery time on a sim is? (Cape Town, Diep Rivier).

Ordered today, tried finding a micro sim in Canal Walk without success.

Was on 8ta, but after trying for the last two days to buy airtime via their website, I've given up on them (Down for backend maintenance)

I always buy mine through my bank (FNB).

We've seen a few people unable to connect via our social media channels and support centre. We've been working with MTN to identify where the problem could be, but it's very intermittent. Some clients are sporadically reconnecting, and others seem to be getting the profile invalid error.

We should be close to a solution now. Please stand by - sorry for the inconvenience :(

I'm not 100% sure where Diep River is - but if's part of the major centre of Cape Town, it should be within 48 hours of payment clearance and despatch from our warehouse :)

If it's further out in the sticks, could be a day or two longer.

Its one of the suburbs of Cape Town - I can almost see the city from my office :p

Just hoping its before the weekend, as we're away, and I need internet (although, 8ta won't have coverage where I'm going anyway)

Just a heads up, Mobile access issues should have cleared about an hour ago.

If anyone is still battling, please reboot your device :)

Yip, working again. Still canceling as I had to buy an ad-hoc data bundle on my phone contract in order to send out some urgent emails. Not the first time I've had to this as a result of the Afrihost 3G service failing to connect.

How can I boost the 3G/LTE signal in my house? I can only get Edge and I get 3G if I stand on the road.

Sorry to hear you're leaving us :( We know outages are never cool, but we do our best to have them resolved quickly.

I've had some luck moving the device around the house for sweet spots. Some guys on here have some external antennas - not 100% sure on how those work though.

Thank you Mr.Afriman, it works :D

Awesome guys, glad to hear it's working again :)

Sorry to hear that you are thinking of cancelling. I think we're going to get better and better at the Mobile thing, and you still won't find better deals anywhere. I hope you decide to stay :)

Actually I have found better deals at 8ta. My wife is with them and her connection is far more reliable. And I won't decide to stay simply because you hope so. Get your support, reliability and coverage sorted out and I might revisit Afrihost as an option in a year's time. At the moment you're costing me (in downtime and spotty coverage) far more than I'm saving.

I'm sorry about that. Yes, you're right, hope is not anything tangible to pay for with hard earned cash. Let me know when you are keen to try us again and PM me please. I'll make sure your application goes without a hitch :)

When will the mobile data bundles be reviewed again? I have a 2+3GB and a 3+4GB.

Got my 10GB+10GB SIM today, yay. I did a speedtest at work and got 12Mbit/s and when I got home I was getting 3Mbit/s. Which is acceptable. Used 700MB so far.

Problem is after 20:30 I am getting this and can't watch YouTube videos :(

I am getting a full signal without an antenna. The poynting antenna doesn't seem to make a huge difference.
If it does the same tomorrow then I will have to cancel it.
