Afrihost Mobile Feedback Thread

Last two days have been incredibly slow to non-existent connection. Especially last night and this morning. I was doing a few things via ftp which seemed to work fine, but all http/web browsing takes about 2 minutes to load a basic page or it just doesn't load at all. Nothing has changed on my end (hardware, software updates etc). Anyone else having this problem? Rondebosch cape town area.

Edit: Resolved via afrihost support.

Glad to hear this issue was resolved with our support team - they really are a rockstar bunch :)
 
Getting very slow speeds with the E5331 device for the past two days now. Signal is at full bars and I'm in the same location where a few days ago I easily got speeds of 5/5. This slow upload is really ruining the experience...

I have ordered and paid for mobile data 500 on 18 Feb 2014. Still have not received my sim - support told me that they ran out of sim cards.
 
service down since yesterday, was chatting with chris on support and it disconnected, whats up, wheres my internet?

ok i phoned and it needed a device reset, your online chat and support ticket system doesnt work so well

My new sim was activated on monday and delivered today, the APN doesnt work at all and im paying for data that i cant use of which expires in 2 days! I've tried the entire day to get hold of someone on the chat and phone and am beyond frustrated at this point. It should have been working upon delivery, no excuses.

That's an usually low upload for 3G. You definitely not one EDGE with that download speed.

Have you tried resetting your connection to try and get better speeds, or moving the modem around for better reception?

We had a problem with our delivery of new SIMS which should be sorted out now. We should be packing and despatching the backlog of SIMS now.

This was only on Standard/Micro SIMS, other SIMS have been shipping as normal :)

We know that we're not getting our support right just at the moment, but we're hiring about a million more people as we speak and they should be trained and ready for deployment in just a few weeks. Also, Gian has committed the company to focussing on consolidating and strengthening our internal systems this year, so we are looking to bring our service back to what it should be.

Sorry to hear that something's not working. Are you saying you got a SIM from us? Are you using this in an Afrihost device or do you have a different device and you're manually setting the APN to "afrihost"?

I would just like to thank afrihost.As one of the first customers that also got a free modem :D

Paying R300 10GB for mobile has been a joy and I really can't complain I have more up time then I had with vodacom and its cheaper!I must say the thing I like the most must be there client zone its amazing.You can pay so easily, upgrade, downgrade, topup and show your usages all of this is amazing.I have not seen such a flawless system on vodacom,mtn,8ta nor cellc.

I hope they keep this promo running as long as they can I will support them if it stays like this its just perfect.

Could be cheaper :D but that a dream for other day.

I would like if the afriteam could maybe release some stats on about how much data we use(in total all of your clients ) or how much clients they have gotten on board if that is ever possible.

That shouldn't be happening. I assume you've followed the usual steps of rebooting your device, etc.
