The device shows 3g with full signal strength.

I received my Mifi device and SIM yesterday afternoon. (After a bit of trouble from the courier, but AfriMan helped me out with that.)
I must say that it exceeded my expectations.

Those are pretty good speeds for mobile. Even your ping is pretty good. Are you saying you're not happy with these, or that you're not getting what the tests say you should?

Sorry didn't make myself clear enough. The speed tests were good, but the response wasn't there.
Slow to load and very slow speeds on well seeded torrents.
Not home yet (damn server upgrade) will check tonight and advise.
And as an aside, my speeds are usually aroung the 6-7 mb mark for download and 2 mb for upload.
Ping around the same.
If you're using PC to connect to the internet, you could also run our Network Test App so we can see if you're maybe seeing high latency on traces. That might show something. Not sure how you can see throughput on a speedtest but not on actual operations/download

OK now I am thoroughly confused. Performance seems to be a lot better, but the speeds are worse (as per speedtest.)

That's a bit weird. Are you sure you're testing on a clean line, as in no connections or downloads running at the time?

Pretty weird. I think we need to see what you're actual throughput it vs what speedtest is showing. Maybe you can run something like BitMeter OS.

Since the 19th. See my post further back.
Last two days have been incredibly slow to non-existent connection. Especially last night and this morning. I was doing a few things via ftp which seemed to work fine, but all http/web browsing takes about 2 minutes to load a basic page or it just doesn't load at all. Nothing has changed on my end (hardware, software updates etc). Anyone else having this problem? Rondebosch cape town area.
