Especially given mobile prices, Plus is a great deal. A R99 additional payment is equivalent to a 1GB topup, So if you're on a 1GB package, it's already worth the membership to receive double data (and then everything else is essentially free)

I am a bit lost... I dont see where it is a great deal for someone like me that now needs to pay R300.00 more to have the same amount of data on my 3 mobile packages. I understand it was a promotion that would end, but this is definitely not a great deal any more.
I am sitting in the in the same situation, mobile is my only option as there is no other service available where I stay.
Even without the double data present, our pricing is still very competitive - along with a decent amount of features (OOB comes to mind) that you have with us.

Doubt it.... i have 2 x 10gb and 1 x 2gb which is about R1150.00 + R300 (for afrihost+) gives me R1450.00pm for 44gb of data. I can switch to telkom mobile for R1399.00 om for 100gb + a router on lte.
To be honest.... dont care about the features, i would rather spend the extra R300 on data.
Is Telkoms data month to month, available for use anytime?

Available 24/7 and a contract for 3 years. Which i dont mind... R150pm over 3 years saving and double the data.
The anytime data isn't too bad, a 3 year contract though... that's a lot of commitment!

Yip it is... but mobile connection is my only choice stay in a townhouse complex with no telkom lines or wireless options.
In my opinion, afrihost got rethink this one, looking at this thread, a lot of people might be leaving.
I guess the decision is up to you, just please review the overall picture. Going back to OOB again, we've innovated so much in the short time we've been in the Mobile market.

I am trying to justify the extra 300 on my account for what i need. If it was just an extra 100 for all packages..... where do i sign ???
Did you check if you can get the 20GB + 20GB data option? It goes for R987 + R99 for Plus+ is R1086 which is not bad. It would mean you always have the double data promo and the 2 for 1 topup. Not a bad deal if you ask me.
It will also eliminate the need for more than 1 plus+ addon as you have 40.5GB data in one package.

I'm seeing comments like 'ah! but its a two year contract' but in fairness, those of us who use data don't give a hoot if it's contract or pre-paid just so long as we are not being ripped off...
If Afrihost drop double data, then your prices will be more than all other operators offerings.
Example: Afrihost Mobile 5 will become 5GB at R297 but Cell C 5GB Pre-Pay 12 months works out to R249 pm. I get 6% discount on the Cell C offering so I'll pay only R234 pm. That's around R50 pm less (R63 with my extra discount).
Now if I take Mobile 3 and add the R99 pm to keep the extra 3GB it's still more expensive than 5GB from Cell C. Of course I would get an extra 1GB but on this particular account. I've never ever used more than 5GB on that account.

Just get a MTN prepaid sim and use the MTN onetime prepaid bundles. Their prices are close enough to the AH prices (with double data) without having to buy AH+
Fully understand your point, I guess it's up to the individual at the end of the day. A contract is still a long term commitment, and if something changes (either admin wise, coverage or anything else) it makes it hard to move on.
We prefer giving our clients the option, even if it's not beneficial for us at the end of the day.
Then there's the big topic of OOB. While it won't affect everyone, we offer complete control and transparency over every aspect of the account. Something no one else offers.

OK, so my 500MB from the Plus product has disappeared after 4 days, just great. No new allocation.
The trial was supposed to be for 30 days.
Think that I will cancel Plus right now and start shifting my other stuff over to a new ISP, considering that double data ends at the end of December.
