On the Voice product, will we ever need to get SMSs from MTN? I want to block them as the SMS Spam is getting overwhelming

Not really, you can check all your balances and info via ClientZone. But if you want to use their prepaid promos (which are sometimes awesome) you may want to keep the SMS's.

*130*603# will opt you out.

We're officially outta here guys.
Our Social team and MyBB reps are taking a week's break, we'll be back on 28 December 2015. Our Support team will be available around the clock to help with any urgent queries :)

Gtfo outta here and grab some beers or something :). Thanks for always being on call here dealing with all our issues. The AH reps are by far the most helpful and available on mybb. Hope you have a great holiday break. Cya next year.

Been having constant "Out of Data" issues while I have lots of data still available. Having to restart my router couple of times a day really annoying!

I recently got Afrihost Voice. I bought an MTN prepaid SIM and ported over. However, having a massive headache.

While it is working in my iPhone 6 with the APN set to "afrihost", I have yet to find a way to get it to work in: 1) iPhone 4 (Personal hotspot not working - even with APN explicitly set to "afrihost", and even worse 2) Not working in Afrihost MiFi device, APN is also set correctly. I just get an error that says profile error - unable to connect, 3) In my iPad Mini Retina it is also not working. It shows it is connected to the MTN network but no data is coming through.

It appears MTN blocks the use of the afrihost APN for any device that is not a phone. This is highly frustrating and ridiculous if it is true. Has anyone find a solution to this problem, because it renders Afrihost Voice data useless in any tablet/MiFi/3G router.

This is a cross post from the above link, posting here as @afriman asked to keep it in one spot,

I had around R10 airtime but suddenly got capped so loaded R37 yesterday, no use of the phone and now getting "capped" as Airtime balance is 0.

The major issue is that when you airtime balance is 0 you get knocked off the internet so cannot use your data to buy more "Airtime"

I think what is happening is that data balance is coming the "voice airtime" instead of data

Where is the airtime going?

Why are we knocked off the net when we have data but no airtime?

Why no notifications when the airtime balance is low?

So, seems when you put the "afrihost" sim into a new phone it automatically connects to the myMTN APN and starts feeding off you Airtime rather than your data!
That is an expensive lesson I shouldn't have to learn.
Now to spend another 40 bucks to be able to phone people

Hey Chingha, yeah you will always need to make sure about your APN settings when you insert a SIM into a new device. If you are connecting to myMTN your airtime will be used for browsing. :( Sorry you had to find it out like this. I do believe that this is stated in initial comms as well our T's&C's, but I'll talk to the team and see if we can't make this message clearer. :)

Cannot acces client zone ? anything wrong. Just get error "503 Service Unavailable"

You always have to set it up again in a new device
