I'm getting the 'capped' page again, with plenty data left.

Re-booting the modem every time it happens (nine or ten times today) is getting old, and the auto-answer to the ticket that I logged two hours ago is not useful.

Got billed R118 more than I was.invoiced for, waiting for feedback from Afrihost.
Anyone else with incorrect billing?

Got billed R29 even though I have no Afrihost services - cancelled during Dec and my clientzone confirms no services?

Not cool at all! :( Do you still require assistance?

That doesn't sound right! Please PM me your details and I'll investigate. :)

Not tight now unfortunately... But it is definitely something our development team are looking into! :)

Is visiting the clientzone or the afrihost web site zero rated ? Just checking if one runs out of data/airtime can they still visit the site and topup?

This is something they really have to do, I had my Airtime gobbled up by data charges (the dreaded APN setting issue) and had to scramble for wifi. It isn't acceptable that you cannot recharge without someone else's Internet access.

When is Afrihost launching their mobile voice packages? And will we be able to customize it?

From my calculations it would be cheaper to get the mobile data from Afrihost at R98 for 2gb and using MTN per second billing of R60 for 100 minutes. This works out cheaper than Afrihost R199 for the same

I can't give an exact date for the launch of Afrihost Mobile with Voice, but it will be very soon. :)

You are more than welcome to make use of a MTN package and then signing for one of our Mobile Data APN packages.

I know that this is the Afrihost Mobile Data thread...

But please allow me to ask a two questions!

1. Why is Afrihost hosting so chronically bad with, on average two outages per month!
2. Does anyone else have this problem?

My theory is that the Commodore C64 that you use for your hosting has an intermittent problem! :D

Happy to answer your questions, though I guess you're posting them more rhetorically :(

We definitely do our best to use the best technology to avoid downtime and any possible problems that affect our client's experience. We unfortunately did have an outage (only affecting VMware virtual servers) which should be resolved now. We're in the process of moving our virtual hosting over to Hyper V, which we believe will offer our client's a better experience and allow us to offer better support and service. We'll continue to monitor and work with our environments to make sure that are maintained at the very best standards. Definitely not a Commodore 64 - everything it state of the art and using the latest industry standards :)

Thank you AfriMan!

It's good to know that things are changing! On my own site being down is an email and no website issue... However, I have a business partner who often has corrupted SQL databases as a result of the up's and down's!

Hey! The Commodore C64 was state of the art once! :)
