Afrihost Mobile Feedback

Thanks - not sure how many people actually care - as apparently this AFRIHOST / CELLC partnership - is quite tenuous - and many worries exist - and likely best to switch to ADSL or Fibre than rely on tower signals from anyone... Thanks anyway - Appreciated. Keith

Yes, it is better to move to a fixed connection. You are more than welcome.

Anyone else getting poor throughput over the last 2 days?
Multiple sims in multiple parts of the country are super slow.

You have no nano-sim cards?
How are you out of something like that?
Weird.
What now?

Or will it be quicker to get an MTN nano sim in-store and then AH does their magic to get me my number back? Can bribe with chocolate cookies to get this moving first thing monday?

No need for cookies. Just go to an MTN store and they can do a sim swap right there for you. Afrihost does not even need to be contacted.

Save yourself the run around by not mentioning Afrihost when you do the SIM swap in store as that is the staffs queue to send you packing even though they can assist you.

Thanks.
This would be ideal as I could get the new sim and old number in my hands tomorrow.

Thanks.

Just remember to set your APN up after the SIM has been activated. Provisioning should not take more than 2 hours.

@AfriNatic
@Afrigirl
@AfriGuy

Phone stolen.
Any chance of getting my number back?
Could someone get in touch please if it's possible?
Thx.

Sorted, thanks.
Provisioning done and back to normal.

Sorry for only getting back to you now. It looks Mav managed to get you sorted!

Hello all, Ricky from your support team tried to assist but to no avail.
5 May: I bought the Mobile Data 1GB monthly plan, Afrihost gladly deducted my cash immediately.
6 May: sent in my Id and account was verified.
8 May: ran out of MTN data and was hoping my Afrihost data will kick in which it did not.
Logged a support ticket, Ricky assisted but to no success. APN settings were correct. SIM was tested on multiple devices. Still no data from Afrihost. The Client Zone says my SIM card provisioning request has been sent to MTN bit nothing more. Ricky advised he resent the request and it only should take 30min. Two hours later, still no success.

So you will gladly take my money before something even works?

There was an issue with provisioning services on the MTN network. This seems to have been resolved as a SIM I provisioned on the 7th went live this morning. If yours is still not up, connect with the Whatsapp supprt team via whatsapp.afrihost.com so they can look into it for you.

A serious question, when will Afrihost review their mobile data pricing?
Afrihost are slowly becoming the most expensive for mobile data.

Yes, there was an issue. Are you connected now?
