Afrihost Mobile Feedback

I really appreciate your reply, AfriGuy.

I have the names of the agents in my WhatsApp history which I'll send to you in a PM.

However, as all their responses were the same, or similar, I think that WhatsApp management are the ones who need the educating / re-educating on how to handle responses to clients who are offline at the time the WhatsApp agents are able to reply - because as the responses are similar or the same, it seems as though it's Afrihost or the WhatsApp dept's policy to answer in that manner.

Only thereafter, do I feel the agents themselves should be instructed on how to adjust their answers going forward, when full details have been supplied by the client.

Hope it makes sense, and changes are made for the better for everyone concerned in the future.
Hi BayCityRoller, that sounds fair. It sounds like it's the whole standard of replying to clients that need to change, instead of singling out a few consultants. I will give this feedback to the WhatsApp manager and hope that real change is implemented.

Just to let you know, things have moved on nicely.

Had a call from the courier this AM, and delivery is set for Tues. 19th in the morning.

I see also that the data has been allocated already, at the same time the billing took place & funds deducted, so all fine there.

The SIM isn't absolutely urgent as I'm covered with data until the end of the month / 'til it arrives, but when nothing happened for a few days I started getting somewhat concerned.

Thanks for getting things going the other day ....

Copied a few minutes ago from the Client Zone ....

Anyone elses AH sim stop working yesterday? Mine just suddenly said sim not provisioned and when you call it, it says the number is not available on the MTN Network.

I don't use it for regular airtime but it has small amounts of data via the AH APN going on it daily (with the exception of the past 2 weeks).

I did speak to support who have been surprisingly quick to respond - I see they sent out an email now to what I assume is all mobile clients (received it on my work email for another account too).

My wife, mother, mother in law and her live in domestic all still can use theirs and they're set up the same as me.

Hi all
On the 20th of May, my MTN data sim from Afrihost got disconnected.
A few days prior I had received an sms from MTN saying that I had not made a billable call in 110 days and that if I did not make a call they would deactivate the number.
I did not understand this as the sim is only ever used for data, but anyway, they did infact cut the number.
When I called MTN I was spoken to like a naughty school kid.
The person told me I need to get an Affidavit from SAPS before they would reconnect me.
The next day, however, the sim was reconnected.
Now I have been on a constant battle to try and get the sim working again on Afrihost's network. I have logged multiple calls but nothing has worked.
I have gone through all the hoops and redoing the APN settings, rebooting the phone multiple times, giving Afrihost permission on the MTN network, putting the sim card in a different phone, but nothing works. I have another Afrihost sim in another phone, the APN settings are the same and it works perfectly, but not this one.
If I switch the APN to my MTN, it is working, but when I go back to Afrihost, nothing. It definitely has something to do with MTN, I think.... But I just can't figure it out.
The number shows up fine in the Afrihost clientzone.
Does anybody have any ideas?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. It's most likely that we need to get this sim replaced and reconfigured but I would like to confirm a few things with you. Please will you send me a PM with your email address so I can look into your account?

I have exactly the same problem and have been jerked around by support. Ticket ZMQ-632-89899
Get you act together and please fix it. The service from MTN and Afrihost is unacceptable.

I have exactly the same problem and Afrihost is not assisting in resolving the problem. I bought the SIM from Afrihost. That MTN disables the SIM is their problem and they must resolve it.
It looks like MTN is puposefully disabling Afrihost SIMs to force a migration to MTN's own platform. @rpm

Hmm,strange, mine also stopped connecting to afrihost the 20th

It stopped connecting to APN on 2020-05-20 18:32
I've tried topping it up,putting it in a cellphone, and transferring data from/to it
The SIM connects to MTN,is able to run commands like balance checks etc,and can connect to MTN APN,just not Afrihost at all
I've also deleted and recreated the APN

And since support's ignoring the ticket, here's a few extras:

Hi PsyWulf,

I will follow up and provide feedback. I apologise for the poor service you received.

Got a message 7am from Amanda M that some things were done and to retry - issue has been resolved. Not happy it took a week for this to happen but I won't hold a grudge

Thanks for not holding a grudge. We are never perfect in our ways but we'll do our very best every day to improve! Thank you for your patience, it is much appreciated.

been having the same issue and no one afrihost seems to be able to resolve , whatsapp support or you @AfriGuy.

this was your last message :
We buy airtime for it every month, so that's not the case.
It's not deactivated. Trust me, we'd know first.

Please take it to an MTN store, ask them to set it up on another device, tell them the APN is just afrihost all lower case.

how com some people can be sorted and others not ?
why must we first rant here on a public forum ?
why do you guys act like you haven't had this problem before when clearly from what i have read above its the same issue ?

my number isn't cutoff but the apn is not working in my phone tablet or usb dongle despite following all your instructions.

Hey Jones123. If it just stopped working, it may need provisioning again. That will direct us to the possible cause. Please PM me the number is question so that I may look into it?
