Afrihost Mobile Feedback

Is anyone struggling with connection issues on airmobile today? Calls seem to work fine, just data that is an issue.

I have my APN configured as ws.air.mvno

OK cool, I also noticed it was dead since around 12, glad it's not just me.

We are aware of a connectivity problem affecting mobile data clients. Affected clients will experience limited to no connectivity. Engineers are working on resolving the issue as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience that this may be causing

I had no signal at all on my phone for half the day. Got reconnected to the network about an hour ago.

@Afrigirl @AfriFella @AfriGuy
Currently an Afrihost Airmobile Prepaid client.

I've noticed on 2 occasions that if I deplete my mobile data, I am unable to login to the Afrihost App via cell to load more data. I have to connect my phone to Wi-Fi (if possible) and then can only load data via your app.

Even using a 3rd party to load data does not work (FNB/MTN direct etc).

Surely you guys should zero rate your app to fix this?
Looking forward to your input on this

The App is zero-rate; free bytes are allocated for clients to log in to the app should they need to Top up.

You can not topup with other network provider data and airtime as with the legacy Air Mobile products that ran on MTN SIM cards

When was this last checked as I have on 2 occasions been unable to do so...

UPDATE • 15:08 • 03 Jul 2024

Afrihost has detected another impact. Clients that are affected will experience issues with mobile data and calls. Afrihost and MTN engineers are working on the issue. We apologise for the inconvenience caused.

@Afrigirl, a few questions:
1. What is the rule regarding either AfriHost or MTN cancelling the SIM after xxx days if there has not been a top-up? Eg: data is purchased monthly from 1 SIM and transferred to the others.
Morning.

I spoke with the team, and they confirmed that the MVNO numbers are not subjected to being recycled yet. However, that may change as there are still discussions around that.

IS the airmobile issue resolved yet? last 2 days its basically been dead. Had to use normal mtn data. Tried iphone and android. Both Esim.

Based in cpt.

I can confirm I'm having the same issue, when data is depleted the AirMobile app won't load and can't topup.... Very frustrating

Hi @Afrigirl
Are you able to confirm if the Airmobile (new plan) calling rate of 64c/min is per second billing?
I can't find this info on your site.
