Afrihost Mobile Feedback

Good morning.

I’m sorry about your poor experience with trying to resolve the issue at hand.
May I have the ticket reference, I will speak with the Airmobile Team to generate a new OR Code.
Please confirm the new device model.

Can you shed light on why you simply cant just scan the code on another device to move the esim? (taking into account, you deactivate it on the first device)

Morning.

Are you still experiencing a bad signal?
Morning. Yes, signal is always bad in one section of the small sea side town.

And from driving around, it seems like there is only 1 tower for the whole town of Reebok & Tergniet

We need to check as a team because it has been happening quite often, even when the esim was removed correctly.

The sim swap has been queued; you should receive the new QR via email.
Thank you. Received the email (without the QR code actually displayed inline - just a blank block), went to Airmobile app and got the QR code from there instead but my phone has been trying to activate for the past 15 minutes without success

Any error message received?
Has the old esim been removed?

Yes old esim has been removed. Stuck at Activating... and then after about 15-20min I receive a popup message that the activation failed. Tried via QR code and manually entering the details. Same outcome

Please view the QR code from Clientzone directly on the browser.

Ok I did that and scanned the QR code. It's activated the e-sim but not on my cell number. I now have a completely new random number. This is becoming ridiculous!
It is a temp number to initiate the swap; please give up to 3 hours to complete. Please do not use the number.

There is an issue on the MTN side of things with the migration of eSIMs.

Anecdotally, MTN always a problem. My wife struggle to get esim for her iPhone - multiple stores, call centre etc. Backed up by going to iStore and they said, all the vodacom activations they do are seemless, MTN, never straighforward. To which they recommend MTN stick to a physical sim and not waste their time.

Think I'm going to go this route and get a physical sim from Afrihost. Can't go through this again next time

I'm using a MTN eSIM since the testing phase over a year ago
Until now no issues.
I'm hoping to have a smooth experience when transferring it to my new phone later this year.
