Hi @Afrigirl

I have 2 x Afrihost Airmobile products and need some clarity please.

My cellphone is using the Air Mobile Voice Prepaid with an MTN SIM - the one where I get the free 1 x Gb PM.
Our intercom is using the newer Airmobile product with an Afrihost SIM which is 64c per minute with per second billing.

Are you able to confirm what the talk rates are on the Air Mobile Voice Prepaid calling rates are and if this is per second billing?
I'm assuming that on my cellphone, I'm paying the full MTN rate without per second billing and would appreciate some input on this.

Hello.

It is 64c per minute billed per second but the MTN Sim card is subjected to MTN's price plan.
It will depend on what price plan you are on, you can use the MTN App to check.

We do not have a USSD to top up, but we allocate free bytes so you can access the app to top up.

Correct?

Hi @Afrigirl. I am having another issue with Airmobile. I've gotten a new device, the esim is failing to activate. Made contact with the support team yesterday and they escalated the issue to MTN, they advised to do the usual restarting of the device which I've done multiple times, today again, escalated to MTN.
I would like to not get into the situation of being without service for another month like the last time.
Could you possibly assist please.

Hi.

What is the new device? Do you have a ticket ID?

If you want the call rates we offer, yes you would port to Airmobile.
Hi,

Either your copywriters don't express themselves well, or I don't understand English.

On https://www.afrihost.com/airmobile/rates inter alia the following statements are made:

1. "Rates do not apply to premium-rated services or toll-free numbers."
OK, so what are the rates in those cases? This is after all the AirMobile rates page...

2. "If you port to another network, rates will be calculated based on the ORIGINAL network you signed up for, not the new network you ported to."
So you(r copywriters) are saying that if I port to you I still end up paying the original rates (but not who gets all that moolah). Then why port?

Regarding point two: My ORIGINAL network was Vodacom, in the 1990s. Since then I have ported all over the place. How do I understand what is written on your rates page?

Toll free numbers are FREE
Premium rated numbers are charged according to the premium service you are calling. Generally they will tell you how much it is per minute. There is no baseline.

If you port from Vodacrap to Air Mobile you will pay the rates according to AirMobile. 64c per minute charged per second.

I moved from Cell C to MTN to AirMobile. I paid every network according to their rates when I was on their "respective" networks.

So far, and I have been on AirMobile since the launch, I am happy. My data actually lasts longer than on MTN, go figure?

Morning.

The above refers to porting 'to' another network from Airmobile, not porting 'in' for Airmobile.

Unfortunately, we cannot confirm the rates for premium calls and sales as they all differ; as @IamNoone mentioned, there is no baseline due to the varying nature of these services.

How many accounts (esims) can I have under my Airmobile profile?

Our family would need at least 10 for all the devices. Is that possible?

Only 2 of the eSims will receive the promotional data and airtime, but yes, you can sign up for more than that.

Thanks or the reply. Point two still seems to say that if I port from Network X to network Y, if previously I was with network A, then network A's rates would apply to me even though I've ported to network Y. I don't see how else to interpret the language.

Hey @Afrigirl, so I had to try and call an international number this week, and was surprised to find out that I can't call international numbers from AirMobile. Is this something that needs to be activated beforehand or just not support at all?

I make a call to the UAE every Saturday. Did not have to activate anything from Afrihosts side.
