Afrihost network woes explained

Cisco products, or did they go cheapskate and don't want to name it?
 
My money is on them using Allot appliances for the traffic management. Very powerful appliances but can be very tricky to configure.
 
When technology just gets too complicated for humans to tame :) It happens I guess.
 
When something breaks, and can't be fixed correctly or effectively, then it usually gets replaced :whistle:

I fully agree!

Seriously, if something is not working 100%, you remove it and put in a new system that does work 100%.

It's not 1990 anymore.
 
How many times did they have to say top engineers at x, x, x in that article.:erm:
 
The other obvious question for Gian is how can he employ hardware on his network, that his technicians are not knowledgeable about?

Too late. Wont use them again. Why only now? Either they didnt care enough about their clients to keep them informed or they didnt know what was wrong....

This is all well and good, but like other ISPs who also brag about the millions they are investing in network upgrades, if you cannot see any improvement at ground-level, it is just fairy tales.
 
...this explains why my mobile data (3 + 3) has been running uncapped for the past few months, but then I can't complain, because I'm not paying extra. :)
