no peers no speed at all have infinte amount of time left to download this....

there are seeds (1674) but i cant connect to anyone thats the main issue..

sorry it just updated... im getting 7.0kb/s with 1day 21hours left...

Similar to me :(
I'm chasing this up with our team.

No, I'm in Joburg... and they are technologically illiterate. :p
All I can tell you is that they called me this morning saying the line was "extremely slow" even after rebooting their router several times.
They are the only ones running on that account. I don't know how else to remotely test it for them.
If I told them to do a Trace route they would think I was swearing at them.
They are in Maitland, Cape Town.

Hehe :)
Perhaps a speedtest then? Just trying to get an idea of what the issue is.

ok so i investigated further and checked for the local server for downloading the ubuntu i found the telkom ftp server which im currently getting > connected nothing downloaded, the file hasnt even been created on my hdd yet.. after 5min.. using: ftp://ftp.saix.net/pub/linux/distri...leases/.pool/ubuntu-12.04.5-desktop-amd64.iso and the same again from another one from their site.. i like to browse and see what else i can get.

im glad at least that you can confirm you too are having an issue.. :)

Odd that my NTTP stuff is flying though.

Have you tested any HTTP downloads?

Let me know how Pokemon Go goes.
Asking for a friend :p

Don't know how Telkom did it, line fault was clearly not close to my place, but they did something without me knowing about it, end result I've got proper speeds again!! line actually syncs at 1 up and 10 down for the first time in 2 months.

That's great news, keep me posted on how things go :)

Line is sinking - spoke to Telkom DSL support (went through all their motions) who says I should speak to AfriH, as on their side line sinks. Getting ERROR on Client zone and Ookla SpeedTest timed out. I'm a teenie weenie bit annoyed right now as its been the status quo since this morning.

AfrH site says network is fine?

I've tried switching DNS routing also - no improvement.

Huge latency, to what looks like your exchange.
Have you tested another ISP to see if the results are replicated there?

No where near this much latency on our network.

Is Telkom and other ISPs "at war" with one another

Sounds like exchange issues/ congestion to me. When you switched accounts it probably reset the port.
Both of the accounts run via the same network though, is there another ISP you have lying around you could run some tests with?

Routing is quote different between AFriH and AfriG if you look at the above traces I have posted.

If the port was reset - why did the hop come down to 12ms suddenly and then go back to +500ms or trace 2?

If the exchange was congested I would never get 12ms on the DSLAM.

I get this with Telkom guest account.
