Static IP In South & East Down
Medium Impact 18:58, 30 Jul 2016
We are receiving reports that Business Uncapped users using Static IP addresses in the South (Cape Town and surrounding parts of the Eastern and Western Cape) and East (Durban and surrounding parts of KZN) are unable to access the internet. Affected users will experience no throughput (line speed) despite appearing to connect normally. Business Uncapped accounts not using Static IP continue to work as normal, which will also be the case if Static IP functionality is temporarily turned off. Our network engineers are investigating and hope to resolve the issue as soon as possible. We sincerely apologise to affected clients for any inconvenience this may cause.
I'm sure you mean uncapped right?..Accept for the HP website issue I had this morning..YT, Netflix both in HD and other downloads are running smooth..Last day of the month I guess. This is the downside of caps.

Yip exactly the same thing, 16 days and counting. Seems YouTube is also affected by this problem now. But according to AfriGuy, I am the only user experiencing this problem?Once again, routing has gone pear shaped. Daily occurence lately

Seems this issue has still not been resolved.
As everyone uses up the last of their caps as they have the mentality of saving the data till the last moment and then splurging it, causing slow-downs for everyone. Check tomorrow, the latency/throughput issues will be a lot better again. It's the same if you check the Telkom LTE threads (I haven't looked at any other ISP/network threads today)
I suppose you're right, but if I was Afrihost I'd throttle the crap out of those splurges that do this. Compromising network integrity should be the response they should use to something like that. And here i thought it was the uncapped users we aught to be worried about.
Let's not go there ;-) Business Uncapped was guaranteed unshaped, now it's not. That would be against the unshaped clause in the agreement.
