Afrihost New Network Feedback

I'm still on old Dslam or whatever it's called, on a 4mbps line but latency still high but my download speed shot up. How is that even possible when our exchange hasn't been upgraded yet?<br />

To anyone on the business uncapped product, how is Twitch streaming?

I used Afrihost in the past when they were on the old network and Twitch streaming was impossible.
 
Is anybody using a 100GB capped package? I'm really considering getting us to change over. However, I'll only make a final decision at the end of the month (due to a month's notice needed for cancellation of current of plan). I was also considering 4Mbps uncapped, but the 100GB + 4Mbps ADSL line bundle is rather tempting.

Cool thing about Afrihost Capped is that you can get afrihost plus for R99 per month and get double data per month so 200GB, And 2 for 1 top ups, mobile data, soft cap etc.
 
Experienced first disappointment on Afrihost since joining new network.Getting 75% of speeds on nntp but switched to Vox and getting 100%.C'mon guys hope this isnt the start of another MTN mess.

My 4mbps line is with Telkom, and my data is with AH. I'm on the 50GB package, plus AfriPlus. So that's 100GB's plus 500mb mobile data plus Simfy plus 2 for 1 top ups, soft cap etc

Apart from my congestion issue, I'm very much happy with AH as my isp for data, especially since the Afri Reps on here are top class, and I appreciate good support.

im hoping Telkom can upgrade my profile somehow to try and counter the latency issues. Im not sure if its possible, as im still on the old Dslam i think. im on a 4mb/s line, but in for the last week and a bit, im going at between 600 and 800ms on the ping, and my speeds have dropped to below 2mbps.

ive had a port reset done, worked better but then it dropped again. Im now going to see if Telkom can look at upgrading my profile, and hopefully at least my speed can be corrected. I know ghost and i think AfriGuy said my exchange was congested, but im now at a point where im going to persist in asking to at least see if they can issue me with a free upgrade to an 8mbps line. If that is not possible, then im just going to keep on nagging until they upgrade the exchange. :(

Not to mention that all traffic between 00h00 and 06h00 is zero-rated on our Capped accounts. ;)

The network performance looked good over the weekend, we didn't see any dips in performance or throughput. How did your P2P compare?
 
are things okay with regards to my line, stats etc? this is what it is on my router

Latency is still a huge bummer, but thats a fight im having with Telkom at the moment.

Looks OK, your exchange is congested though.

Most exchange upgrades are planned well in advance and done based on a pretty strict schedule - hopefully it's a quick fix!
 
My line has decreased from 20476kbps to 64kbps after using the Fix My Line feature. It has also changed the modulation from G992.5 to G992.1 (changed from ADSL2+ to ADSL) Please will you fix this Afrihost, my internet is so horribly slow. :cry: :cry: :cry:
