Set to default. 169.1.3.2. YouTube is no longer having issues ATM though. Full speed now. Testing on the same clip.

It was going anywhere from 1300kbit to 2200 up to 2800 and back down. Now it's a constant ~3600.

Very strange! May have been a temporarily glitch somewhere. If it happens again will you please let me know. :)

Just out of interest - haven't heard from the pony in a while. She still around?

I moved back onto my Afrihost account and things have gone back to normal. Youtube streaming great again.

Afripeeps, can you please light a fire under your support desk's guys?
Waiting 11 (and counting) days for a reply to a ticket is unacceptable.

That fibre... So pretty...

Which company provides the actual fibre infrastructure? Have you been happy with it?

Well Telkom provides the infrastructure, but I ordered the line through ISPAfrika and pay them line rental if that's what you're asking.

I've been super stoked with the connection. Downloading at 10+MB/s never gets old, and the improved latency makes a big difference for browsing and gaming. And of course it no longer matter hows many family members are streaming at any one time.

AfriGenie, how would Telkom normally sort out congestion?

Congestion can either be relieved by upgrading the capacity of the Exchange, or by adding a second Exchange in the general vicinity to allow them to move existing Clients off of the congested Exchange onto the new - hopefully closer - Exchange. :)

I'm super jealous! Although my 20Mbps is more than sufficient for most uses, the 1Mbps upload is limiting.
