Can someone please clarify Afrihost Plus+ for me, I currently have a 50 GB capped account for R99, if I now add Afrihost Plus+ for R99, does that mean I'll get 100 GB every month or will the only advantage for me be the soft cap?
I'm not quite sure whether you only get double data if you top up once your cap is finished, or whether you get double data right off the bat at the start of the month.

When I added Afrihost+, my 50GB capped account went 50+50 = 100gb. Also got 500mb mobile data and chose 2 for 1 topups on the 50+50gb account.

Cool thanks, I'll probably go up to a 100 GB cap, if I then add Afrihost Plus I'll be getting 200 GB per month, effective saving over taking a 200 GB cap is then R100.
 
Are things a bit slow on the network today? Speed test has me only at 4.2mbps on the download. I'm normally closer to 6.7mbps.
 
Having times of good throughput and then for 2 seconds bad latency on LoL/Smite, then good again, off and on. Hard to catch on a ping test.
 
Does it really take weeks or months for afrihost to action migration from telkom adsl+data package from telkom?
Got new number when I moved into new property and telkom sorted out the adsl etc.
But paid for adsl bundle on afrihost weeks ago .heading to months ...still waiting for migration...still shows pending on my afrihost account..
Do I just sit and wait ??
 
Hi,
Could an Afrihost rep please assist me. I have a 200GB capped account with AH+ activated on it. I had 13GB+13GB rolled over from last month. It's being used in this order:
1. Feb data rollover
2. March data
3. March data AH+
4 Feb data AH+ rollover

Would it not make more sense if the AH+ rollover from last month was used before the current months regular and plus data?
 
I've been having issues with my ADSL since Sunday 6th.

Internet cuts out, has massive latency and very low values of noise. Additionally, the line is unable to sync at max speed consistently.
Currently the connection is showing Downstream line rate (kbit/s) 1600, I am paying for a 2Mbps bundle.

My latency is over 1000 in CSGO.

I've been in contact with Afriguy who has not responded to me since Tuesday... it is already Friday. Tickets feel just as useless.

This all seems to have started happening when I downgraded my line from 8Mbps to 2Mbps uncapped bundles.

Sorry to hear that the issue is still present, and apologies if I missed a PM.
We did chat about this, and the tests that have been submitted are making it near impossible to track down, as the latency only seems to appear when you play CS:GO.

If that is still the case, you need to check any local QoS.
Otherwise CS:GO requires a line with higher throughput?
 
Isn't it easier to assume that everyone is reporting double and just rewrite the "code" like that, because I truly believe that it's everyone, for eg:

It was mentioned earlier that it might be AH+ related?

Well,....as I'm not on AH+ anymore, I'm just an ave joe now, like everyone else, just maybe "more observant"?

The testing that we've done on our end don't show trending results where an overall fix can be done, so it needs to run via a case by case basis for now.
 
What is going on? My speed keeps dropping. Sometimes rebooting the modem restores the speed for a bit then it drops again. It will be fine for hours, but then drop again. I have sent Afrihost a mail and a please call me a couple of days ago but have had no reply. My line is syncing at 4mbs as that is what i pay for, says I have 8mps attainable. The line still reports this even when the speed and ping goes to pot. This morning I was at full speed, now I have this:

Huge latency there, probably the cause of all the problems here :(
If the line's dropping, it usually indicates a line/ exchange issue somewhere. Have you chatted to our Support team to diagnose?

It depends on the benefits you allocate :)
You can allocate double data, 2 for 1 topups and soft-capping if you'd like :)

No general issues at the time you posted, did you test some downloads to see what their throughput looked like?

Sounds like an odd one. Have you tried running a constant ping in the background while playing?
