Where does CW guarantee 100Mbs?

Obviously outdated info on their site, considering this banner on nearly every page:

I have a dynamic DNS service running on my network, but for about a week now it seems to be down. After further investigation it looks like my external IP issued by Afrihost is not ping-able over the internet. Afrihost please explain. Are you still issuing unique IP addresses or are we sitting behind some proxy service?

OK let me chime in here a bit. It's a banner, which DJ... himself said needed to be reworked. Your argument is based on an assumption, while Justin's is based on a product description. For all we know that could be for a special Business FTTH account that goes for R100/GB.

AH uses NAT to "proxy" the static IP in a transparent way.

Well it is not transparent from the outside for the last week. I am not able to ping my ip. I am not able to access my local network remotely using a VPN.

I'm not exactly sure how it works, your external IP may be different to your router's reported IP due to the NAT thing.

Not an assumption. DJ has said several times that their accounts go up to 100Mbps, whereas AfriPeople have said that their accounts are officially rated for 40Mbps.

There we go again, up to 100Mbs. Not 100Mbs.

Streaming was great, come 7am ... suddenly buffering ...

Something tells me that AH has just not got what it takes

:::EDIT:::

Ping to EU once again over 400ms

i have no idea if it was just my 2mb line being nice, or if it was the Afrihost data, or a combination of both, but i had no issues streaming this weekend :-) Cricket, rugby, 2 movies etc.. no buffering. Quality was quite good, so not bad.

Mines still perfect

183ms ping to uk
16ms ping local
No youtube issues
Download as fast as line can handle (20mbit)

This is the last thing I saw before my Paragon 300 HC character died and then I lost connection ...

:::EDIT:::

The speedtests, pings and tracerouts seem fine mostly, but the intermittent ping/packet loss is driving me crazy ... server disconnects, random 700ms+ ping ... it's pathetic

Sorry I miss you massage but is was spoken to afriguy yesterday with the same problem I send you a link wit my account

We definitely need to run some tests with you. We monitored your username for a bit over the weekend and we definitely did not see any shaping present.

Can you PM me with a convenient time that you'd like to test today and we'll monitor your traffic as you test?

Having some issues atm.

Trace complete.

Gone and comes back again over the last 5 mins. 2-3k ms latency HotS.

Edit: And back to normal

Your trace looks mostly OK though - glad it went back to normal :)

Occasional authentication issues aside, my Afrihost account is doing just as well now as it was on Afrigreen. No complaints really. Downloaded a P2P file just now at 1MB/s.

Actually I do have a complaint - the lack of fibre support. I've already arranged my switch to Crystal Web from November, seeing as I'm out of time to wait for Afrihost to announce something. Really guys, it's October 2015. How long has FTTH been around for now?

Our Capped accounts do work on Fibre, but we do not have "official" fibre products. We hope to do that soon, now that we are peering at NAP where most of the fibre providers end up. Definitely watch this space :)

I think you're missing the point here...

Why did it go bonkers (multiple times) to begin with? I easily had this about 10 times during the course of Sunday... It's as annoying as ***** to have to loose all your connections / ssh sessions the entire time, just to have them drop AGAIN as soon as everything is reconnected.
