Been having wonky p2p speeds for the past couple of nights.

Even on the Ubuntu test torrents that the AH reps requested to be tested.
One second full line speed (3.4 mbps) then the next it drops to 0.8 mbps. The torrents are also very slow in starting up.

See graph below. Time is in seconds.

P2p are fine during the day and usually starts this nonsense at about 7 pm and lasts until about midnight or so.

YouTube streams perfectly at 720p.
Google play store updates also jerky like the p2p.
Http download of ps4 update file is prefect.

So what gives?
Any feedback on this? Or do the other replies from the AH reps also apply here?

Our Team thinks they may have found the issue, and are busy implementing a number of changes, would you mind testing tonight and letting me know if there is any improvement?

Will this possible issue also affect the Usenet speeds? If so, then I can test that tonight.

It's possible, although I don't think we had as many complaints over Usenet speeds. I would really appreciate it if you can test tonight and let me know how it goes! :)

Any one else having problems connecting to adsl ?

No worries.... seems to be a telkom issue.

How long is it supposed to take to upgrade a line from 2Mbps to 4Mbps? I ordered it on Monday 25th April and still sitting on 2Mbps. Both the line and the data are with Afrihost.

Was quite annoyed. Decided I was tired of buying single GB every time I am low. So I turned on auto topup. And it didn't work. This morning my internet was off. Had to switch accounts to purchase more data and then switch back. Anyone use auto topup and can explain how it works or if it works for them?

Did Telkom or Afrihost confirm that 4Mbps is available at your exchange?

Isn't it more cost efficient to buy a larger bundle than to top-up?

Telkom manually process regrades now, it seems to take about 2 weeks for your line speed to change. Unfortunately nothing Afrihost can do to make it happen faster. Been there done that.

Doesn't mean the backhaul is able to provide a higher speed.

right makes sense, but a few years back I had 4Mbps, so I should be fine, and back then it took 15min for the upgrade, now 2 weeks?? We are going backwards people.

+1 - I can agree with this...

I had 4mb ADSL (fastest) and decided to downgrade to 1mb-or-was-it-512kb (fast).

I thought my line was down one day when I got home from work one day, but realised my line was syncing at the lower rate.

Next morning, I phoned 10210 and asked them to change it back to 4mb. By the time I got home it was back at 4mb.
