Your Noise margin is too low to get full 10Mbps
For every 1Mbps you need another ~6db ( on that screenshot you have 0.6db spare )

My SNR is 6.0dB and I get a stable 10Mbps.

And ... my entire ADSL connection went down for about 15 minutes at 10 pm. Even tried plugging in the phone straight to the Telkom jack and the line was dead. WTH is going on today? If not Afrihost, then Telkom - can't seem to win

Don't think any of the AfriReps will be happy, when they log in this morning to hear what has happened. Going to be fun to watch, but hopefully they will explain the issues which occurred over the weekend.

My connection was pretty okayish this weekend. No serious issues.

My SNR is 6.0dB and I get a stable 10Mbps.

You misunderstand,to _increase_ by one meg you need 12dB,( -6dB for the meg,6dB margin ),so 2meg would need 18dB at least (8Mbps -> 10Mbps)

Very sorry about the issues on late Saturday and early Sunday morning
Our network team were absolute super stars and managed to get everything sorted out pretty quickly - this only affected the North.

Right now it's not too bad but if it gets worse than I'll get them to do a port reset. I've tried another cable as well.

Do you need a port reset done constantly to see normal levels of throughput?

My 40mb line the whole day today

Any ideas not hardware related as test acc gets 38mb on speedtest no worries..

Actually it starts right now if you have a 100GB+100GB account or higher.
For those on the 50Gb+50GB account, it starts next month as they will be converted to 100GB accounts on the first of next month.

I just checked out Afrihost's new prices, and they're pretty insane. I might have to switch back to you guys once my fibre line is finally installed.

R599 for 300GB, R99 to turn that into 600GB with Afrihost Plus and R849 for 100Mbps line rental gives a total of R1547pm. That's by far the cheapest option for data hogs on Telkom fibre, especially with the uncapped data from midnight to 6am every day.

How are you Afrihost folk enjoying the network? It was working pretty well when I left last month.
