Afrihost New Network Feedback

I don't have figures that I can share, but I can say that a month to month service like ours is a constantly changing thing. We see sign ups and cancellations every month, it's just the nature of a service industry.

I don't believe that we've seen anything particularly out of the norm, even when the network was poor. We're very lucky that the large majority of our clients stuck with us and are now enjoying the benefits of our new network.

We're not at all concerned that we've lost all our clients I think we're still growing (in terms of client base) at a steady rate - to my knowledge :)
Okay thanks, good to know.

Maybe that came out wrong. I mean we haven't lost all our clients and therefore we are not concerned.

Damn you, grammar nazi! ;)

A grammar nazi would point out a mistaken usage of a word/spelling error, not that the entire sentence's meaning is wrong. :p
Hope you enjoyed losing all your clients but still managing a positive growth, being able to defy the laws of reality must be awesome. :D

It's Friday, the only thing that should make partial sense are the plans for the weekend :D

We're officially outta here guys.
Our Social team and MyBB reps are taking a week's break, we'll be back on 28 December 2015. Our Support team will be available around the clock to help with any urgent queries :)

Well deserved break. Hope you have a wonderful time. :)

Seems to have sorted their crap out :)
You know what, that's business for you. Many businesses who became successful, went through crap initially. It's part of the process, and it will continue to be like that.

It's a shame that people demand so much(me included), as you spend alot of money on a product. But the reality is, that things dont always go according to plan.

I normally read through all the ISP threads, not every post, and there are issues aplenty. Not one can say that they have no issues, so it's very difficult to know where to go to get the best.

I read through the Afrihost isp ruling thread or whatever it's called, and okay you received perhaps sub standard support etc. But, I'm surprised that nobody has actually taken Telkom to task regarding their sub standard performance and management at various levels. Everybody it seems is banging on the various ISP's doors, while Telkom continue to provide less than an adequate service and infrastructure to support these isp's better.

If Telkom appointed more people like Charl, perhaps they would be in a better situation. In fact, its a pity that they can't offer Charl a position higher up, because I'm convinced he can pull this company right. But they continue with people who are running amock, so it will continue to be a struggle.

That's just my view on things. :)

Hey AfriPeeps.
My line's been performing miserably since last Friday. It's been 8-days and there's NO resolution just promises to escalate to Telkom. I need one of you to please assist.
Regards,
SD

You're sadly a day late, they have a weeks break for Christmas. Your best bet is to call Afrihost directly (011 612 7200), send an SMS (SMS "Help" to 32541 * SMS charged at R1.50. Free SMSes do not apply.) or send an e-mail([email protected]).

Arrrggg... Thanks for the heads-up Johnathan. At this point I stuffing dunno which would be worse... line being managed by Telkom or AH. :(

I'm seeing some strange in game latency with quake live tonight on Afrihost; effectively if you are not using much of the upload capacity in game (i.e. stand still and do nothing) your latency remains low (17ms), but if you start running around shooting etc and your upload starts coming into play the latency goes up to 80-100ms(sometimes it jumps to 200). This is only happening on Afrihost, on a WA test account it remains at a constant 17-20. This is on the CT server provided by Kelmos. I did not experience this latency yesterday.
