Once again that 3rd to 4th hop from cpt-rx2.ip.adsl.co.za to cpt-net1.ip.adsl.co.za - can afrihost please stop messing around and fix this link...

btw here's my brass.afrihost.com ping over the same period - small fluctuations due to being connected to quake:

Facebook, twitter and connection to my vps server has taken a nose dive.

I think we can expect some international traffic to be affected as we're having to route a lot of traffic that would normally be local over international and that's obviously adding more traffic.

Once everything is back up, I think we can expect everything to perform as we're used to on the new network.

We did see some latency due to increases in traffic. The link (as in physical hardware) is not problematic, this is due to heavy demand, and there will be a short period between when demand spikes and shapers kick in to bring demand in line.

Why is Supersport streaming so useless on Afrihost. On a 4mb Business account.

It is pretty good otherwise. Just Supersport that is terrible at the moment. It was bad on 2mb but not expecting it be as bad on 4.

Any chance this is affected by the cloudflare/peering issues that were happening last night? That should be fixed now, according to Cloudflare :(

Could very well be. Will check it out for a bit and revert back as soon as anything changes.

why is AfriGuy hiding today? and where is AfriGenie and AfriFella?

They're all around - just all in mourning now that Amla was bowled :(
