a "my account is disabled, please fix this, here's my ID" form.

If you're talking about extended verification, there is no specific turnaround time. Each case is individually investigated and it can take time depending on the circumstances. There is a dedicated team that works with this, so we try to resolve queries as quickly as possible.

When the feature was introduced towards the end of last year, questions were asked about if it will be permanent or only for a short while ....... a lot of speculation was offered at the time.

Seeing that the end date is a few days away, is it possible for an official response/confirmation:

Will the 12:00 - 06:00 am unlimited data be cancelled on 31 January 2016 for the capped accounts that subscribed to less than 100GB per month?

Thanks :erm:

For the moment, it is set to end on all accounts and will only continue on 100GB and above Capped accounts.

Thanks for the info ....... WebAfrica has a similar setup, but they do not discriminate against their capped account holders - everyone gets a slice of the "free" pie, albeit, the smaller your capped account, the smaller your slice (which is fair of course).

Thinking of going Afrihost uncapped. What are users' feedback of the Premium Uncapped vs. the Business Uncapped, please?

I think we'd love to give away the data, we'll have to review and see the cost implications. But when it comes to giving away data, we'd always like to say yes if we can :)

They're two very different products, not sure it's really a good comparison. It's really about what you expect from your connection. What are your priorities in terms of your experience?

And ...... we as consumers love free stuff!!! :D

Obviously it is a business decision that I cannot make for you folk, but having a quick look on the web what the other ISP's are doing, I noticed that even OW is giving away free late night data to their capped account holders (irrespective of the value of the account).

It just kinda makes me wonder if my meager subscription fees makes me also an important client to Afrihost, or does the business of the "smaller fish" not really mean much to AH (even though the fact that these clients stuck it out through the rough times).

In essence, I must also add that the amount of data I consume on a monthly basis, does not warrant me to subscribe to the 100GB account. Having a few free GB's a month on my small account would be great for the odd times I need that little bit extra (it just do not seem sensible for me to buy in on the 100GB account to get free late night data, if I only use around 90GB of data (on average) per month).

At the moment, the free data is not a deal breaker for me, but when I find myself in the position that the few extra GB's do make a difference, it certainly seems that there are other lucrative offers out there

*Gets off his soapbox*

Our capped data is still amongst the cheapest out there, so we really not trying to make money hand over fist here. I think if it's do-able, we'll do it. Right now, the numbers are being crunched and we're assessing how running the promo affected us.

No argument there, AH's prices is definitely very reasonable (one of the reasons I am still here) - at the moment OW has a better deal on the 75GB capped package (a buck cheaper and free late night data), but I am sure that will change soon.

I also understand that AH is a business (even though most of the time you folk do try and give us fair deals) and cannot survive if you do not make a profit. It is for this reason that I really like the WA offer, as the amount of free data is proportional to the amount of "purchased" data - certainly a case of something for everyone that supports them ;)

We really appreciate your support and I promise that we'll always try to push for more value.

AfriMan, anything happening on the internet side, multiple web pages not loading and speeds very slow.
Not even the Afrihost website loads, so I cant live chat.

Seems like all google's services and facebook is down at the moment. Getting DNS errors.
Edit: Works on afrihost mobile.

Use google's public DNS 8.8.8.8 for now. That's what I am doing.

same here almost no web pages opens and I don't have the time to change 20 odd modems DNS server ip

Hey guys

Seeing some weirdness on CPT and DBN regions in terms of DNS resolution. We're working on a fix, but as a work around for now you can update to Google's DNS:

8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4

Looks like there is a wobbly on DNS at the moment. We're busy working on this. Switching to Google DNS will sort this out, but you may want to rather just wait a few mins for this to be sorted so you don't need to change tons of settings.

EDIT: lelz, AfriGuy is way too quick for me :)
