Well I am not the only 1 with this issue, and I cannot do tests now as I am not at the office.

It's hard to raise any general issues like this without data. Ultimately being able to recreate this with one user will help us recreate this under testing conditions and then the team can have better insight into the problem :(
 
Just comments here on MyBB, so seems like around that time in the evening, anywhere between 8pm and 11pm. We'd need to do some specific troubleshooting and get specific times to see what changes could be triggered on the network at that time.

Can you give us a list of addresses you'd want traced when this happens ?
 
Does seem mostly OK. I think we should monitor and run few tests to see if the latency is consistently on that hop. If that's the case we can kick it up to the network team.

The problem is not between my router and the exchange as can be seen in the test to bras.afrihost.com, first test shows 20% loss on the 3rd hop. Still getting the same results after a port reset.

We need to test whether that packet loss occurs consistently at the same hop and at the same rate.

Submitted 3 tests to support, one over wifi, another over LAN and over LAN again after a port reset. All tests show a 20%+ packet loss on the third hop.

bras.afrihost.com showing 0% loss tested on all the above.
 
Tried to log on remotely to my office to try and run some tests, times out. Cant even log onto any speed test web sites. Are Afrihost going to sit the while day denying there is an issue?

Definitely no general issue that I am aware of. We need to trouble shoot directly on your line, becuase there could be a number of factors introduced by a remote access test :(

If it's urgent you can FW it to me, otherwise AfriFella is back in at midday today.

No need. I'm the idiot. Forgot that my adsl line was cancelled before I moved away. So had to phone telkom to set up a new line which they said Will take about 21 working days. Which is really crazy. Guess no internet on my computer for one whole month.
 
okay i spoke to Telkom, something to do with a missing transmission link which needs to be added, which is causing me issues with regards to speeds fluctuating.

Just ordered a new Telkom line, took 4 days. Hopefully you have the same luck.

Well this is the same result my wife gets doing eh test on her machine at the office so this has got nothing to do with doing the test remotely. But now all of a sudden the test runs and at full speed.

That sucks! Have they already installed the phone line?

Nothing has changed on our side, so there's definitely an inconsistency there and we'd need to see what is common between your connection and your wife's :(

sounds like it yes. Just said something about transmission link which needs to be installed. No timeline though :( so evenings ill just have to download what i want to watch, and leave the streaming for the day time for now
