Riddle me this Batman! Could a faulty router cause packet loss on international connections, but not on local connections? Is my router being zenophobic?

I'm really not sure, but from your PMs yesterday you said you saw the same poor streaming results across two ISPs.
So it's either some weirdness on the line itself, or the router.

The only way to nail down what it is, is to test it :)

Still battling with your exchange dude?
Something is happening which I just can't explain AG. The traceroutes seems to indicate no exchange issues in terms of congestion. So that would indicate that cabling seems okay as well I would assume, but the speeds on both my TI and AH are fluctuating badly over that 6pm to 00:00 time period. I hit a torrent at around 2am and my download was hitting a healthy 1.6mb/s. So it's all a bit confusing as to what is happening

Edit: latency is around 10ms with a jitter of 1.

Odd, your line's on a 20Mbps sync - is it just throughput that you're battling with?

Odd, no general issues from our end.
Can you run a traceroute so we can see where the latency is coming in?

My connection just became unusable. Streaming impossible and packet loss. Had to switch to the prepaid account I bought earlier this month. All while I have family over and we were watching a show on iPlayer while eating braai. Not happy...

Sorry to hear :(
Where you able to grab some tests to see where the issues came in?
