What is going on with International?

Skype - Dropping to UK/Local fine
Windows Updates - Won't download
CNN/BBC/EZTV - all slow to open
Sipgate - Dropping and breaking up
Whatsapp - serious delay

Local traffic seems fine though

Will stay on Mweb account until Afrihost fix it.

Ya for I second I thought my fibre line was letting me down - only downloading at 15% of full speeds. But local appears to be fine. Definitely an Afrihost issue - but their website says all is fine while it's seems not to be.

Does seem to be something wrong with International, maybe for the last week or two. Getting weird disconnects on Webex calls/VoIP sometimes poor, and streaming performance seems to have degraded i.e. Youtube.

Latency seems fine/normal. Throughput seems normal, but performance is not what it used to be.

Shocking online chat support, support staff running away!

first he tried to pin it on Telkom then runs away once i run the same test using a Web Africa account and prove him wrong.

Seriously Afrihost, something is Broken, the Internet is horrible at the moment.

Hey guys! Thanks for your feedback! I have raised these international latency and P/L issues with our network team and they are busy investigating. :) Please keep an eye on it and let me know if things worsen or improve on your sides. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Afrihost reps, can you officially confirm that you do not have IPC problems or that your network is oversold? Please think carefully before replying as I will be taking a screenshot of your reply for future reference, as we have seen this pattern before.

Definitely not a capacity issue. :)

Then why do the tracerts posted here show clients being shaped and why it is protocol-based on supposedly unshaped accounts?

Shaping can not be identified on a traceroute... I have sent your reports on to our network team, though, and they are looking into it. :)

Please educate us and you are welcome to create a new thread if you think it will derail this one.

What is managing the packet flow when latency increases (as reflected on the tracerts)?

So AH, is there a shaping issue with business and capped users?

I think you should update the firmware of that protocol analyzer device.

Torrent flying like a boeing tonight for me ...... so AH please dont touch anything.

I think they shaped your Game of Thongs download so they could watch it first :)

After all my recent troubles, all of a sudden the trackers are downloading as they used to and the torrent is downloading as expected, thanks to Oscar if this is a result of our chat earlier today. Will monitor and report any further issues.
