If there was shaping - and there definitely isn't - it wouldn't stop you from connecting to seeds.

Are the trackers up to date for the torrent?

There is nothing wrong with the trackers, as this ONLY happens between 19:00 and 22:00, like with everyone else on this forum.
The moment the time hit 22:00 on the dot, the same torrent with LESS seeds and leechers was flying at full speed.

Proof of shaping between these times was that I used the CZ to reset my line, and all was fine for EXACTLY 10 minutes, before the same torrent that was full speed, dropped to a crawl and then couldn't connect.

And NO, contention is not an excuse, as this word means that you are placing Business Uncapped under the same dynamic shaping policy as Home/Premium Uncapped. FYI, the same applied to capped accounts last night, and for the last week.

Furthermore, please stop using the word "prioritised", as this means SHAPING. An unshaped service has NO prioritisation (ie. ALL TRAFFIC IS TREATED THE SAME).

Hi Afrihost, can you mention it on your website, my boss is on my case , and says according to your website everything is fine in KZN which it isnt?

Can confirm, I'm in Amanzimtoti in DBN and even doing speedtests on speedtest.net shows that the nearest server to ping off is Cape Town and no more the DBN one. Also internationals are very lacklustre...

Have you submitted a support ticket for this, I found posting issue here don't help much. I still have the same issues as you but at least now I have a record of what has been said.

If they are attempting to reroute traffic so that they can test in Durban, that would make sense :(

I am just mentioning we reported issues, and provided all the testes requested, and in the end nothing was even done. I was also told by Critical care that they cannot just test with our account details as that would disconnect the client, so how is the testing being done with the users information as per your earlier post. Not looking to cause issues, just wondering.

:D i hope you didnt provide that purspyk.. Would have been a BALLS up :p

Unfortunately, there is no point... I have been through this in Cape Town 5 times in the past 3 years.
I only posted here to add weight to your argument, as I find that we are always told that it is an individual issue, and NOT a network issue. I don't use torrents anymore, but had to last night, as the main site I use (http) was down for maintenance... It more has to do with the fact that I am tired of people with legitimate issues on this forum being made to feel like they're "lying", or that it's Telkom's fault.

FACT:
AH is placing ALL accounts under the same dynamic shaping policy when the network is under strain (19:00 till 22:00).
From past experience, this has always been proved to be a capacity issue (IPC).

I do agree, and thanks for the backup, I did feel like man alone for a while, and some took exception to me complaining, but I currently live in hope.

I see the Network Status Page is still green???

Afrihost currently have confirmed network problems in the east and the Network Status Page should reflect this?

This should be a Technical Call not a Management Call :p

Took them weeks, perhaps a month to update the status page when they had problems with MTN.
