Afrihost New Network Feedback

How long is it supposed to take to upgrade a line from 2Mbps to 4Mbps? I ordered it on Monday 25th April and still sitting on 2Mbps. Both the line and the data are with Afrihost.

:(

At the moment Telkom has to manually process a great deal of the regrade orders, a process that usually took 48 hours can now take a week or two at a time.

You are welcome to PM me your details and I'll follow-up on the order for you.

Was quite annoyed. Decided I was tired of buying single GB every time I am low. So I turned on auto topup. And it didn't work. This morning my internet was off. Had to switch accounts to purchase more data and then switch back. Anyone use auto topup and can explain how it works or if it works for them?

Hi!

The Auto-Topup feature should definitely be working, what was the size of the top-up that you requested?

right makes sense, but a few years back I had 4Mbps, so I should be fine, and back then it took 15min for the upgrade, now 2 weeks?? We are going backwards people.

+1 - I can agree with this...

I had 4mb ADSL (fastest) and decided to downgrade to 1mb-or-was-it-512kb (fast).

I thought my line was down one day when I got home from work one day, but realised my line was syncing at the lower rate.

Next morning, I phoned 10210 and asked them to change it back to 4mb. By the time I got home it was back at 4mb.

Telkom is still capable of processing the upgrades and downgrades pretty quickly, but ASSIA has been causing issues with regrades and causing even greater delays, so for the moment things are back to being manually done until a work around can be found.

Do the small bundles also roll over? If it does, then the user can buy a 10GB capped account, and if he only uses 4GB's the 6 will roll over. So only has to buy once every 2 month's based on his 4GB average usage

Was 1gb at a time to max 10gb.

Is it meant to purchase when data drops below a percentage or when it gets to zero?

Would you mind sending me a PM with your username, I want to check what happened. The Top-up should have kicked in quickly enough that you weren't capped.

It's possible, although I don't think we had as many complaints over Usenet speeds. I would really appreciate it if you can test tonight and let me know how it goes! :)

Tried to test last night but it was worse than other evenings. Totally dead. Think it might had to do that we did not have any power at all last night. LOL. Will try again tonight if we have power

Haha! You had me worried there for a bit! :)

Will AH plus work with capped fibre data? Also does unused Fibre data roll over the same as capped DSL?

For the moment our Capped accounts will function identically on Fibre than it does on DSL. :)
