Welcome back AG.. We thought you disappeared along with the Pizza![]()
Has there been any complaints of short disconnects or spikes ? Been getting very short disconnects and spikes for the last few weeks, the disconnects lasts for roughly 10 to 20 seconds but that causes a disconnect in online games (wow , age of empires). Skype/TS goes down as well. In an evening it may happen 1-3 times in the space of a few hours; last night, there was no issue.
Experience the same issue both on my desktop and laptop.
10Mbps
30min later speeds were back to 8.6Mbps on speedtest. Nothing else was downloading, streaming or running on my network at the time. Nothing strange about it other than your network taking strain.
I don't think that was related to the network, we would have seen more widespread complaints. Did it happen at any other points over the weekend?
Morning
Sorry about the contradictory info. Some orders are going through OK while others aren't - the ones that aren't get a follow up mail, we're seeing delays with some orders here.
Not an idea situation![]()
Are we reading the same forum? Go back and take a look I wasn't the only one who reported slower than normal speeds.
Strange results.
I think hop 8 is being affected by packet loss earlier on though, the only hop that should be timing out is your exchange.
Can you grab a ping to bras.afrihost.com and then ping 169.1.5.29 to see if there's any packet loss there?
So is mine AH20160506-275220 one of those which is a problem and will take up to 10 days?
It's not a problem so much as a case of Telkom having to process line regrade manually instead of their system taking care of it automatically.
I did do a ping to bras.afrihost.com,, but did not post the results as it showed normal - i.e. no latency issues nor packet loss.
As I said in my report, when I switch to my WebAfrica account no dc's and no lag spikes during gaming.

i didnt take note of this, but i signed up to the mobile service ie 1GB for R99 when i got an email to say ive been selected and if i sign up ill get an additional 10GB data. I completely forgot about this, and notice my application never went through. I know should be on the mobile thread, but i just been doing some things on Client Zone.
Its no biggie, as i still get my 500MB data with AfriPlus, but i wonder what happened there

Not sure if this was discussed here, or whether I should start a new thread - but how is Telkom's reduction in IPC going to affect us plebs still on DSL?
I'll need to check on your account, can you drop me a PM with your details for the specific account quickly.
