Once again I have to say, I'm very impressed with Afrihost :D. Managed to change a client from VOX to Afrihost, set up a new domain, created new mail accounts and got their permanent DSL account up and running all that within 4 hours, all I need to do now is get their line moved over from VOX to Afrihost. And I saved the client a few hundred bucks...Value for money and speedy support, enough to put a huge smile on your face:D

That's a pretty awesome turn around time if I don't say so myself :D

10 hops less ?

I've been having a weird experience over the last couple of days. Certain international services would become completely unavailable (iTunes, Playstation Network, etc). I have to effectively drop the connection and reconnect for it to work.

I'm on 100Mbit fibre with a Afrihost capped account.

Could be slow responses from your exchange, hard to tell though.
If/ when you see this again, please grab a ping to bras.afrihost.com, a full traceroute/ MTR and a ping to the 3rd hop :)

Okay here are the results while I cannot access store.steampowered.com.

Does your sessions also disconnect randomly?

Not from what I've seen. Uptime was more than 24 hours before I reconnected this evening (I had to also reconnect the previous evening). Before that it's been up for a couple of weeks without any drops.

I was only asking because another forumite with a 100Mbps fibre connection experienced random disconnects. :)

My Internet has been wonky... So whilst still connected some site work and other don't... I'll get timeouts on Gmail and YouTube...

But steam is oreloading doom at 1.2mb/s... What gives.

Very frustrating tonight with international sites timing out. And everyone's gone home at 5:30pm. :(
