Afrihost New Network Feedback

Steam and various sites having issues with afrigreen account, change to afrihsot.co.za, and things work again?

Sorry correction from 18:30, the Steam store, any Windows 10 apps, like Store, Maps etc where you have to log on, would not work, 21:00, and everything works again?? I have mentioned this to Critical Care so many times, and its almost a month and I still have trhe same issues.

These were posted to critical care already, just before i posted here. When I had these issues, i could not even get onto these forums.

What is odd when I cant get onto the sites and steam, the tracert has issues at the 7th hop and this ip address always seems to be the same.

Oscar said it looks like I am using a vpn, thats not the case I have never used a vpn

Our network team are ready checking some sites - been reported by a few members.

It's something we're working on.
 
Ran through a few checks with our network guys, could have possibly found a fix here.
Please do keep me posted here if there are any further issues.

For now, I'm calling it a night.

International is borked on Afrihost in general. Been this way for over a month. Skype has not worked properly for me to the UK, Australia and Germany. Local calls are fine. Its seems to be getting worse with each passing day, also Facebook is super slow regardless of the time of day. I have done so many tests for Afrihost, but nothing changed in my case, only now has the Afriteam admitted there is a problem.

Thanks for the reply. I' ve had some problems with international the last 2 nights, but it normally returns to normal during the early morning hours. Here's hoping that tonight will follow suit, really hoping to play some Doom the weekend.

Just to add, Standard Bank's site is also slow on Afrihost, on Mweb and IS it is fine.

I think only certain links/ upstream paths are affected - it's not international being slow overall.
We did run over some tweaks last night, if you're still having issues with certain sites please post some test data for us to look at.
 
Issues were present again last night. I know the AfriHost network team is working on it though and I am sure they will get to the bottom of it eventually.

I have noted during the times between 19:30/20:00 and 23:00/00:00 when it seems to be happening, that the Traceroutes show a massive spike switching on hopes from JHB To Cape Town. 190+ms. When the issue is not there everything is fine.

The issue is still affecting a lot of people however so the sooner its fixed the better.
 
Does seem to be nightly still. Had slow international on certain streams last night as well again. Google. Outlook. Facebook. iTunes. Steam. All the issues still seem to be there for 3 hours each night almost like loadshedding :confused:

We did run a few tweaks quite late last night.
If there are issues, please run some tests so we can check the data.
 
XBox One update running at 2.3 mbps on 4 mbps business Uncapped.

EDIT: And now at 1.8 mbps

Been 4 days of constant subpar streaming for me on Twitch.
Usually happens around 22:00 but now it's been happening throughout the day as well
