Thanks Lara. Proves once again that something is up. Not looking good I'm afraid........

My p2p, Google play store downloads and international speeds are all borked.
It is possible that it would have gotten better since I only run it for two minutes. :)

Yip, Facebook, Twitter, instagram, skype, Teamviewer, Sipgate.de, to name a few very slow, intermittent or not working at all.

Thanks for the update, how does FB feel at the moment?

That download (I test the same file) is usually running at full speed within 20 seconds for me (during the day and before 7 pm-ish at night). Now it doesn't reach full speed and it is very jumpy. And if I connect to the vpn that routes me internationally - then all hell breaks loose.

At least some of the page loads now, where as earlier nothing loaded.

The active Seed and Peer count for that specific torrent doesn't look very high at the moment, that can also affect the stability of the speeds somewhat.

Are you getting similar dips and spikes with other P2P files?

With all p2p files. I load multiple files in order to saturate my line. Before 7 all good. Sometime after 7/8 pm.......does not preform well. Usually stabilises some time around 10.

EDIT: whatever tweaks you guys are rolling out seem to be having a very negative effect on international speeds that I am experiencing.

EDIT: seems a bit more stable......holding thumbs.

So here's a traceroute that seems to show things as basically ok:

The actual load time is terrible though. The problem *seems* to be mostly with HTTPS. Anyway here is a HAR of my attempt to load Facebook:

(that's facebook1.har, which you can view in a HAR viewer such as https://toolbox.googleapps.com/apps/har_analyzer/

Standard Bank not opening at all, mybb takes ages to load. Whatsapp messages hanging, 30 second delay to send.
So we have come full circle here, the 'new network' now echoes that of the MTN network days.

@AfriGenie It is almost time to continue in a new thread. :)

I don't think that's fair, it's definitely obvious that some Clients aren't have as great an experience as others, but we're looking into this now to figure out why.

Not to be rude AfriGenie, but never use that phrase. It's his opinion, it doesn't have to be fair.

Currently not having issues but I went out to eat, just got back. Will see what it's like next week and base on that. Currently all the exams coming up so no gaming :(

Intentional torrent throttling? all torrents not running at all tonight... :o literally not 1kb/s :wtf:

This has been ongoing for the last week or two, I am paying my full subscription every month, I can understand things break or go wrong. But why is it taking so long to correct. 2 or 3 days sure, but a week? I am highly frustrated here. To be fair, Afrihost down played the MTN network problems for months. So how can we trust anything communicated to us? I am not trying to be a a$$ nor reductive.
