Afrihost Plus+ launched with free trial

I am one of the few on this forum who seems to benefit from the plus membership. :o

Feel sorry to the others who don't though. I think its wise/obvious to move if the price isn't right for you.

Yeah - it works out pretty well for me as well.

Just waiting for the Sign Up link to start working...

Same here. Starting to look elsewhere.

Low data prices and 2-for-1 specials are what kept me as a client for 2 years. Now that they're forcing us to pay for that it's a 'game changer' for me. I feel like an idiot for telling friends and family to move to Afrihost because of the their prices.

+1 (or is that +2?)

I am certainly going to be terminating my Afrihost mobile shortly.
Was looking to go to Cell C but am now boycotting them after the manner in which they treated their World Wear shopping centre banner customer!

Now I have to fork out R99 extra for double data? No thanks Afrihost, I will be looking elsewhere.

To those 80% that voted yes to this, ignorance is bliss!

It's interesting to hear you girls whining and crying like babies.
Dear AH. Sorry for crying like a baby. Adults must keep quiet and take it.

Forever silent & at your knees,
saor.

I did not get the email. Did I complain too much when my 40 Mb line was going at .5 Mb?

I actually save money indirectly with the scheme, at the very least it is still better than any alternatives for me. No ignorance involved...

Deduct R60-00 off the R99-00 for the music service which I use and that leaves R39-00 extra. Deduct half a gig "free" (Lets call it an even R20-00 but it is probably worth more as mobile data) and that leaves R19-00 extra for the "same service". A single topup with double data and now I am easily in the plus when compared with the competition pun not intended. (I topped up 2 gigs this month on my 10+10)!

Oh and because I have a WA DSL account as I'm paying for the DSL at my folks house for them, WA have actually lost a customer to AH if I can link a new AH account to this which it appears I can! :D Just need to weigh the benefits...

NOW he want's to listen to his clients? FU

Aaaaaaand I'm gone.

Seems like a dodgy deal to me which will come with a new round of problems. What most of us actually want is a service that is always fast and reliable without any shaping. For this I am willing to pay per GB. Two months of bad service and now you decide to drop this bomb...... bad idea IMHO. So where to move to now? I would actually happily pay R2.50 per GB on all my accounts provided I am not bundled with all the uncapped internet abusers.

I get this on the sign up page:

Please Note: Your FREE 30 day trial will end on 27 November 2014. From thereon you will be billed R99pm every month until you cancel. You will need to cancel your product through ClientZone before 27 November 2014 to avoid being billed. Terms & Conditions apply.

This makes no sense, if I sign-up today surely the trial period should end on 26/12/2014?

It wouldn't be such an issue for me if the "VAS" applied to the user profile, across all accounts - but I'm not going to pay R145x3 for my current mobile accounts.

... speaking of, besides Axxess - what are the options for mobile data in the region of 4GB?

EDIT: It's amazing how these guys have been providing less and less for the same money, and now this to try and make it appealing - what's next? Afrihost Plus Extra for when your plus product doesn't perform?

Tried Business Uncapped in March - didn't work.
Tried Capped in September - didn't work.
Data on mobile has gone from 5Gb --> 4GB --> 2GB...

and now - you need a VAS to have what you had before? :wtf:

My comment was directed at the Double Data deal. If you find value in the other options and believe R99 is fair, so be it.

Just jumping on.
But since I have the 500MB + 500MB option with them already (R58 per month)
I'm going to get an extra 500MB and then 2-for-1 deal will go to my free GB account.
