Quick question. We are thinking of moving from our current Afrihost 4mbit to the 8mbit package. Will we have an Afrigreen 8mbit account when we upgrade or must we sign up for the Afrigreen program again?

Just upgraded and the Afrigreen account was also upgraded....no need to sign up again

:)

As Alien0 pointed out, you will just need to upgrade your core account, AfriGreen will be updated to match.

Hmmm, we're not able to open the Stream on AfriGreen or regular Afrihost accounts. We're looking into this now.

EDIT: We can't get the stream to run on any of the standard browsers, nor with a SAIX-based test account.

Thanks, they obliviously have a problem on the hosting end, just raised it in-case it was a routing problem.

No problem at all! We do need to check these types of things on our side as well. :)

SpeedTest tonight (10Meg Line) :(

Look, it's been worse in the past, but seriously disappointing after this last weekend where it was keeping up reasonably well.

I know we did make some changes on our side today on AfriGreen, would you mind restarting your modem quickly and seeing if there is any change?

Busy with some updates of Android SDK's. Not sure where the download manager downloads from, but the normal Afrihost account out performs Afrigreen at the moment. Not by much, but it is. For the rest Afrigreen seems pretty strong. 4mb uncapped account.

Definitely interesting, but if it's going over international, it might depend on which routing it takes etc. Remember that AfriGreen is a POC network, so we are switching out different components to test the best performance. Let's hope that when we settle on our final international routes and peering we'll see the best performance on all services and sites :)

AfriGreen Accounts are either being throttled or contention is high. Can't seem to break the 4meg mark on business uncapped or capped on a 20meg line. Been like this since Friday. Yet on my AfriRed account full line speed all the way

Definitely not throttled, but I know we have put our normal shaping rules in place for Uncapped and Business priority. Is the Business product a 20Mbps product? Can you drop me a PM so I can check the policy you're on, as well as any tests you've run and how you've confirmed that 4Mbps is the max throughput you get on the account?

I've been getting this error quite a bit recently.

ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT

or Network changed

Been happening on random websites at random times and I have to refresh couple times

Right now it's happening on saix.net when I try to do a speed test. Though even with refreshing it's still not working.

Also noticed my connection dropped for a minute.

Are you running any downloads or other activities at the same time? What DNS are you using?

Nope. No downloads or anything else running.

Using your DNS, which I was told to use.

196.7.7.7
196.7.8.9

Can you use automatically assigned DNS rather than static IP addresses? I think that is the DNS with MTNBusiness and we should be using different DNS on AfriGreen (auto assigned).

Oh okay. Will try that and see.

Thanks.

Been getting the same even on the auto provided DNS, its even more prevalent when trying to use UNOTELLY's Cape Town and Jhb dns servers.
