Afrihost POC Network - Afrigreen Feedback

Ive been on Afrigreen for awhile now - Id hesitate to say almost 2 months, and overall its been a huge improvement from your other network, which, for my needs was absolutely horrid.

But as of the last 2 weeks, my Afrigreen account has gone from 2 - 5% packet loss, to spiking to about 17/18% packet loss with a constant 12%, depending on the server that I am trying to hold a session with

Speeds are fine, voice calls, streaming are all fine - but if I step into a teamspeak server, or the wrong gaming server (Battlefield/Counter Strike/Call of Duty) - the whole connection goes Haywire, and im stuck losing almost a fifth of my packets.

Is there anything that I can do about this? I could probably get some screenshots and stuff, but any of the help desk people just shrug it off and i dont find help anywhere else, so i decided to try here.

(I have tried both Afrihost and Google DNS, with no help)

Great to hear you've seen overall improvements :)
Are you seeing packet loss across the board or only on certain services?

Hi Afriman,

Please check your inbox.
I sent you a message with my details. I had a new account opened. But the latency is terrible. I would like to be on the afrigreen network please. It was working well.

Thank you

So, I only really see it when I step into a server in Counter Strike, or Teamspeak, and another thing to note is that its almost always only affecting the Packets Inbound, not the Outbound packets

Generally between 7pm and about 2am (Im not home the rest of the day, so i havent tested then)

When I get home, ill get the IPs of some of the servers in question, and run some tests, for now atleast, this is the IP of the teamspeak server that normally has about 12% loss: 152.111.192.232

Good point. We are hoping to offer some, but we still haven't put the rules in place to offer things like turbocharge, etc. When we do, I'll be happy to pass on some love for Uncapped users, though I can say that Uncapped users on AfriGreen are seeing very little shaping in general, compared to the regular network at the moment :)

And what about business uncapped? The capped users are not the only ones testing out the POC. I think we also deserve a thank you.

Can't stream worth a damn ... tried different details (WA and Telkom) they work fine

Youtube saying: 2378 average kbps

:::EDIT:::

Even 360p buffering

Facebook browsing is hella slow for me as well

mmm not sure what is cooking but I just logged onto my Clientzone and it says I have 400 Gigs left for the month on my 100 Gig account ???
Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, just wondering if this is a typo :)

Do you know which port that Teamspeak server is using? Is it the standard TS port (9987, I think)?

Absolutely, it's always a challenge to reward business clients because you have unlimited data and also unshaped. I'm sure that Gian will think of something :)

Seems like a few reports of poor YouTube last night, but from what I can see, latency has been OK but possibly throughput not as good as it could be. We'll kick this up to the network team and see if they picked anything up on their side.

Definitely seems consistent with what others have reported.

YouTube has been perfect for me though of late, but last night had no power cos of stolen cables (still can't get my head around how people steal live electricity cables).

We'll definitely test throughout the day to see what might have happened and I will also test myself in the evening.

OK, that's a little weird.

Could I ask that you PM me? Would just like to look (but not touch) so I can explain what happened :)
