Afrihost POC Network - Afrigreen Feedback

I don't even know what to say anymore. Both accounts are next to useless, no one can give a solid answer as to what the hell is wrong with this test network. Think it's time to look for an alternative.

Nah. I wouldn't. But hey, that's just me.

You can also send an email to afrihost support and PM the ticket ID.
I can use that to locate your username.

That sums it up.....

:D

Just saying same about MTN network

Evening All

We're working with Telkom to investigate some problems on the AfriGreen IPC. This could involve some downtime, while Telkom looks into the IPC hardware performance.

We hope to keep this to an absolute minimum and affect as few users as possible.

Will post an update as soon as I can. If you do have an alternate account, please keep it handy if Telkom do need to take things offline :(

YA YA YA BLAME TELKOM... SAME OLD SAME OLD...

I am experiencing some connection issues on AG. Connection keeps dropping intermittently from about 6PM last night. This morning no connection whatsoever. Restarted router, but nothing. GP East - 4mb Capped.

Why is it that Afrihost is permanently apologizing for issues they don't understand and that needs looking into ...

Does Afrihost actually know anything ? ...

This POC should be called a POS

Remember that this is a proof of concept. As must as we've done extensive testing, this is a brand new installation that is seeing real world conditions for the first time. We'd hope to avoid any serious problems, but I think it's not unreasonable that we might see one or two come our way :(

Yeah, Telkom's at it again

MTN is the reason why your clients are having crappy speeds. Just admit that pleasing both your clients and your MTN bosses are harder than you originally thought.

Telkom provide the IPC. It is their hardware, no IS is ever allowed to touch or run diagnostics on this hardware. So if we suspect the IPC is dropping sessions or delivering poor throughput, we have to get Telkom on site to do the investigation and we have no control over the manner in which they troubleshoot :(

"A proof of concept (POC) or a proof of principle is a realization of a certain method or idea to demonstrate its feasibility,[1] or a demonstration in principle, whose purpose is to verify that some concept or theory has the potential of being used. A proof of concept is usually small and may or may not be complete. "

Bottom line . Maybe it will work .........................maybe not . But you keep on paying .

Even regular AH is acting up ... ... I think it's time for me to jump ship and take my and my families accounts with me

We also saw some issues on YouTube on Friday, this should have been resolved on Friday evening already, according to tests we ran.

What other issues did you experience?

^^ AfriGreen fails here miserably.

The involvement in the POC testing was completely voluntary. We did make it clear that it was a proof of concept, so any client was free to stick with their regular accounts.

I think the idea is also that we pick up reported issues quickly and ultimately this process will tailor the network(s) to our clients needs. So the more people who participate ultimately contribute to making sure that they're needs are included in the overall network performance and design.

I don't know if you read my post. I said Telkom is testing on the IPC and we are working WITH them.

Strangely, since those tests, things have improved dramatically. So I don't know if you want to draw any conclusions from that. From our perspective, we're working together and our only objective is to offer a good internet experience.

That's definitely weird. Since Saturday night, after Telkom checked out the IPC, we've received feedback that performance is solid. Can we do a little more investigation on this? Does any account you use perform like this?
