Still no news on any benefits for the uncapped users? :-(

Good point. We are hoping to offer some, but we still haven't put the rules in place to offer things like turbocharge, etc. When we do, I'll be happy to pass on some love for Uncapped users, though I can say that Uncapped users on AfriGreen are seeing very little shaping in general, compared to the regular network at the moment :)

Wow! Another 100Gb freebie. Thank you, Afrihost. :)

I assume when you mention shaping, this is the normal uncapped accounts? Speeds though are still far too erratic, from wonderful to dismal all in 15mins.

:(

This should definitely not be the case, when you see this happen again, please let us know as quickly as possible, we'll need to investigate from our side and see exactly what is happening on your connection.

EDIT: AfriMan was referring specifically to our regular Uncapped accounts.

I am still having issues accessing ANN7.
I can stream it in low bitrate mode but with buffering, High Bit rate is a non starter. http://www.ann7.com/livetv

here are the traces, it is still getting lost at hop 10:

It must be an ANN7 hosting issue.

Yeah... I'm seeing similar poor performance from our office connection as well as my home connection at the moment. Looks like there is still an issue on their side.

I do report the issues, but these seem to happen mostly in the evenings, and then no one is on the forums, and calling support is pointless as they ask for the same things tracerts etc. which get sent and then silence. Critical Care is no better.

We're usually online until about 8pm during the week, so if you do see some issues after that just paste up some info :) We'll check it in the morning.

Guys what's going on with the speed, latency and packet-loss here?

Speedtest should be around 8.4 normally.

My test result seems OK, not seeing any general issues on the network now.

Looks like your latency is spiking up quite a bit though, shouldn't be anywhere near what you're seeing there. Do you have a terminal/ CMD output I can look at?

Afrigreen is no better than Afrihost MTN. Towards then end of the month it is always the same. Youtube videos on 320p buffering because everybody and their dog is frantically trying to download the world to use up all the free Cap they have been given. When will Afrihost learn that capped anytime data model doesn't work. You need some anytime data and some afterhours data or make afterhours uncapped that way all large downloads will be scheduled while most normal people sleep.

We're definitely seeing improvements on Afrigreen - were you able to grab any test results from last night that I can take a look at?

Been a while since I have been in this thread.

Afrigreen is performing exceptionally well for me at the moment - all last month I had virtually no issues.
Streaming is awesome - cannot comment on latency as I do not really notice that.

Well done to the guys at Afrihost.

Awesome to hear it :D

Afripeople, yesterday I still had a lot of data left on my account, this was a 75GB prepaid with the added 100GB AfriThanks and today all my data suddenly disappeared. Prepaid data shouldn't expire all of a sudden like normal capped.

It looks like the data was deducted from my normal account and the 100GB was left untouched. Is this because someone at Afrihost had to manually add the 100GB to my account and now it's gone?

I'm not aware of Prepaid accounts being moved over to Afrigreen just yet - I can double check the data links though.
Drop me a PM with the DSL username and I can check things out :)

Ive been on Afrigreen for awhile now - Id hesitate to say almost 2 months, and overall its been a huge improvement from your other network, which, for my needs was absolutely horrid.

But as of the last 2 weeks, my Afrigreen account has gone from 2 - 5% packet loss, to spiking to about 17/18% packet loss with a constant 12%, depending on the server that I am trying to hold a session with

Speeds are fine, voice calls, streaming are all fine - but if I step into a teamspeak server, or the wrong gaming server (Battlefield/Counter Strike/Call of Duty) - the whole connection goes Haywire, and im stuck losing almost a fifth of my packets.

Is there anything that I can do about this? I could probably get some screenshots and stuff, but any of the help desk people just shrug it off and i dont find help anywhere else, so i decided to try here.

(I have tried both Afrihost and Google DNS, with no help)
