Guys, Cant see any change in anything, nothing that I can see to change my mind to jump ship, have cancelled actually a few days ago and is in the process of moving my line as well. I am actually checking if there is some glimps of hope that will get me to change my mind.. but you know what ... nothing, if I could retrieve some correspondence from a year ago it will have the same messages.. AH .. hang in there we are busy sorting the problems out ..US .. loyal clients .. lets try again, it seems as if they got their act together now, lets wait and see, we love AH as they (used to)care, then you see .. "sorry to see you go" .. you know the story .. this happen more often I am sure. Yes, then you have ... all ISP is actually the same, true, but its actually the insult to our intelligence that gets me going, you can only be lied to and ignored to so many times. Will go back to AH after they sort their **** out but I am afraid this is just getting to much for me its the total disrespect and assuming everybody will follow like sheep that gets to me

Hey pumbaa

Sorry to hear that we've let you down here :( We're definitely seeing positive feedback on Afrigreen.
Do you perhaps have a ref# or any tests that I can take a look at for you this evening? I'm sure we can spot what's going wrong here :)

Thanks AfriDuy, you know I thinks its too late, one cannot fix the issues with words, I know you try but the system lets you down too, there is only so much that you can do with words .. send me another PM and lets get a transend. I shall keep an eye on you guys because it used to be fun .. not anymore .. will lay my egg here and there and when AH is a proper ISP again I will consider coming back

You're more than welcome to PM me any previous conversation - not really sure what system you're referring to here?
I'd love to help - my offer still stands :)

Not an internet expert and would like the reason why I need to reboot my router several times a day to reset everything and get back to a "normal" experience. What does resetting the router do to normalise the line?

The changes which Afrihost made returned my connectivity to what it was. :)
Latency also improved.

Looking good today. Latency has spiked a couple of times though.

Oh my word. Green has been so terrible since Friday 17:00! Tried to skype just now, my upload speed was perfect, but couldn't download anything or even load a website. Had to switch to 3G

@ xera

No problems with my speed.
Look if your tracert are similar to mine.

Seems like all the downloaders has moved to afrigreen. Speed here is terrible for downloads, but going back to the normal accounts things run fine.

Afrigreen still very slow with downloads. Flying on the normal account.

Hey there

Any details on what specifically was slow? Downloads were pretty normal for me over the weekend when I tested on torrent, HTTP download YouTube.

Ok. The home page of http://www.sanral.co.za is now displaying but one page deeper still doesn't work and times out: http://www.sanral.co.za/e-toll/
If this was a fix your end I hope the engineers at least tried one of the links ;)

It depends on what the issue is here. Usually once we link to a site, that should be enough to access the entire site, depending on how they have set up their access. We'll definitely test from our side and see if we can recreate this, but from all the issues I've seen with access to sites, never seen that before :(

Sounds like you may have a syc problem on the line and rebooting your router essentially resets the sync to the exchange until it seems to settle. Otherwise it may also be congestion. I generally see that the line performs well for a while after a reboot and then settles into poor performance again.

Would need to do a little troubleshooting here :(

that is so they can force you to reconnect and you will use any changes they have made good or bad

Not at all, we definitely wouldn't want to run the network that way. When we urgently need to reboot to apply changes, we reboot the network kit (we wouldn't do that on a production network though).

The only time we force users to disconnect otherwise is on sessions older than 3 days in order to ensure that we have accurate accounting data, as some sessions have no data until the session ends, which can have a big impact on the overall reports we can provide users.
