Afrihost POC Network - Afrigreen Feedback

Torrent speeds seem to be OK'ish. Let's see if it goes to crap tonight, like the last few days.

At last. Team Viewer is working after a port reset.
Getting ...
Oh great. Total loss over team viewer again.
Transfer speed after loss looks like the Rands value, but the rand is still stronger than the speed I am getting on AH...

Would you be able to test TeamViewer over on the regular network to see if there's any improvement?

Please do keep me posted, I know our guys are running through a few checks around torrents specifically at the moment.

Haven't had any issues for a while but have been noticing that torrent speeds seems almost to be non existent in "peak home hours" between 6pm to 11pm for little over a week now...

Our team is looking at torrents and general P2P throughput at the moment :)

So far testing today.

Normal browsing seems okay this afternoon.

HTTP downloading going full speed.

Browsing while downloading - struggling.

Will test streaming and torrents later.

Same issues here. I'm so disappointed in the quality recently.

Seems similar to mine, our network guys are checking things out :)

I just have to say that some of the responses from the Reps on here comes across as condescending and somewhat insulting.

Multiple people are complaining about performance issues between a certain time slot but yet the Reps keep responding with the generic "tests please". You have all the information you need!
Why don't you just take it up with the necessary people to have it fixed??
Someone on this forum asked something along the lines of "Why does it just work with other ISP's" - I ask the same question.

Anyway - that's my 2c.

That's definitely not the intention, apologies if it comes across as such.
I did however mentioned above that our team are aware of general P2P throughput issues - we're checking it out :)

I think it is more the general slowdown in the evenings that is bugging peaople, it has been fine up till recently, now it is almost back to pre POC levels in Cape Town.
Is the South still on JHB IPC?

Fully understand, and we're working hard on bringing it back to what it was :)
Still just a POP in the North, should have some further news around developments pretty soon though.

I think it's very important to understand that in order for us to raise the issues with the necessary people to fix or investigate issues, we need to give them hard data. They will ask us for traceroutes, speedtests and usernames in order to take those issues forward. I can understand your POV here, but please understand that we're not using any kind of stalling tactics. This is really the best way we can act on the feedback you're giving us and hopefully improve your experience. We totally appreciate all the guys who co-operate with us in this regard, I am sure they can all attest to seeing real change when we work together in that way.

My 2c on your 2c ;)

Ok so now my 2c:

You guys want feedback and when we give it we get told you guys didn't have any issues when testing.
That doesn't help at all.
No offence - yay for you guys having a good experience but when we are battling, I don't really care how your adsl is performing. I pay for my adsl and want my adsl to perform well.

It's important to establish a baseline, and we can only go by what we can recreate. If I am able to recreate (or not recreate) a particular experience, on a system that is setup to a known configuration (and test conditions), that is significant. Again, we've never said we don't believe you, but it's pretty much the same when another user on the forum posts that they had no issues during the same period. It gives perspective and leads us closer to an actual solution, becuase we can eliminate certain factors and narrow the investigation.

I think we're at 6c now :) Seriously though, we do take all the feedback we get here seriously, it goes straight to the network team as presented to us, and nothing is discounted unless we troubleshoot here on MyBB and find a possible explanation outside of the network.

There's been a steady decline in performance over the past week. When I switch to another ISP account I get normal download speed on my 4Mbps line instantly. Just done a speed test on Afrigreen. The result is a shocking 0.2 Mbps download speed.
