The accounts are working, however P2P seems to be an issue. Something we've admitted here and working on fixing.
Please try your regular account to see if there's any improvement there.
Vpn's are also an issue - as shown last night with tests I posted.

Well something needs to be done ... and compensation is now due for damn sure.

We try be civil ... we try keep calm ... but month after month you guys bill us for a service that is pathetic at best ...

I just got a lovely sms saying I have been debited again ... ... Something needs to change ... We are tired of this

I just lost a huge chunk of my afrihost and afrithanks data because i was unable to use it thanks to the bad performance.

Please remember that this is a POC network, that is undergoing testing.
Again, I should have more info to post here on how we're moving forward from our network team later today.

Firstly, we are paying for AfriRed which is a joke at the moment ... so whether I refer to red green or friggin purple the bottom line is that I am pointing @ the network Afrihost is supposed to be giving me.

Stop regurgitating sales BS to me, I am a salesman and I am offended by it

Secondly: You say the accounts are working but there are problems with P2P ... ... Dude are you reading what you typing ... if there are problems then it means IT ISN'T WORKING.

Sort this crap out ... call a spade a spade and give us our REMUNERATION !!!!

Only capped clients get some kind of compensation via the AfriThanks data.
Oh and I really don't care how many times this has been discussed - nothing has been given back to the uncapped users.
No amount of saying "we have always given back" has changed that fact yet.

For those experiences issues on the account, please include the following info in your posts. This will help us pass consolidated info onto our network team.

Account type:
Services performing poorly:
Services performing normally:
A speedtest from the MyBB server http://speedtest.mybroadband.co.za/

Once posted, we can consolidate the day's results and pass on what is and what isn't working. Example as follows:

EXAMPLE FEEDBACK said:
Account type: 10Mbps Business Uncapped
Services performing poorly: P2P, specifically torrents.
Services performing normally: Browsing, streaming.

How does that help me now ? ... How does that help me with the thousands we are throwing @ Afrihost just to get financially raped by the company

Compensation has been discussed multiple times before. This is something that's a management decision, so not something I can get directly involved in, sorry.

I have been logging a few calls since October last year that usenet services is not working at certain times during the day. Afrigreen did not even exist then.

Currently I cannot use any AfriColour to play games like Diablo. This has been an ongoing issue as well.

So no, It is not just AfriGreen having a problem. It is Afrihost having problems

I don't think Usenet in general has been an issue - I use it extensively across both network and haven't noticed any problems there.
Please complete some tests, specifically for Afrigreen, so I can have this passed onto our team.

@the guys that are constantly experiencing issues every night:

Why don't you just move?

Surely the money you save on being with a cheap ISP is not worth the pain and misery you have to go through every day?

Calls logged October, November, April and june. Exact same issue every single time. During evening cannot access on AfriRed.
It is fine for a while on Afrigreen not anymore, still not not on AfriRed.

Maybe drop me a PM with some references numbers that I can chase up for you.

Hey guys

The network guys have given us an update on the Afrigreen POC.

The feedback and participation of everyone here is vital to everything that has got us this far, and both the network team and all the reps are supremely grateful for everyone’s contribution.

We’ve now come to the end of the POC phase and are preparing to move into production. We have already started implementing the infrastructure required to have points of presence (IPC) in 3 regions (North, South & East).

We believe that LAB simulations aren’t always a true reflection of how we use the internet so part of the POC required that we simulate a constrained network.
Due to physical limitations on the physical Network Core Equipment we cannot upgrade the POC IPC capacity but we’re very excited that the new Network Core Equipment is being deployed and will soon be ready for use.

We’ll keep Afrigreen running and we’ll migrate it to the new production network over the next few weeks (in October). We’ll be sending out official communications early next week (from Gian, our CEO) with more accurate dates.
Till then, our team will continue running tests on Afrigreen with intentions of making the migrations as smooth as possible.
You can still use your afrihost.co.za ADSL username on the MTN network and we’ll let you know once we’ve migrated Afrigreen to the new network.

We’re very grateful to have had the opportunity to drive demand on the POC as high as possible to simulate conditions in the real world, like if we experience a major loss of IPC capacity. This has been extremely valuable to the team to be able to test scenarios and network policies that will ensure that we provide the best experience we can under difficult conditions.

Again, we’d like to thank everyone for testing, providing feedback and just being part of this awesome new phase of Afrihost’s development as a service provider. We’re honoured that so many have been so diligent in their feedback both here and via ClientZone, you’ve made a huge contribution to the new network!

since when does afrihost decide what to delete and what not this is an open forum and people should be able to express themselves and not have the power to delete things they dont like
shows you corruption is everywhere

Hi! Just one thing,

Your DNS servers are taking forever to update. Changed my domain's nameservers about 3 days ago, and it still points to the old IP :/ (Google DNS is pointing correctly).

Other than that, everything's perfect! :)

??? whats he said
dont see anything about the problems at the moment
sounds like the same story as with the red network we are all excited bla bla bla

Odd, an NS update usually takes 24 hours or so.
Drop me a PM with the domain name and I can check out where the delays are coming in.

I did not "abuse" you, whatever that means. But anyway, I no longer care.
