Afrihost POC Network - Afrigreen Feedback

Those certain services being the ones we actually want to use.
If we only wanted email and web browsing we wouldn't be paying for an unshaped account. A cheep uncapped would be better.

a lot of people get internet for "certain services". If those services are not catered for properly on your network, then for those people, their accounts (overall) doesn't work.

I need to stress that we know that things aren't 100% - and they will improve.

+1, odd how Afrihsot has difficulty understanding this. Do I buy a car and get told sorry park it in your garage and maybe during the month we will fit some of the missing seats, but why worry, the car still works.

It blows my mind that Afrihost still has clients, I almost expected that those on this thread were staff members who get free internet trying to make a case for this lost cause. Afrihost should just die a sudden death. Charging people to test your network is absolutely crazy.

You know I have been a customer for a long time, and I have been hoping that this would happen, as this has been promised so many times, strangely its yet to happen.

Afrigreen, as a POC, was setup to tackle long term issues and quirks we've seen previously.
So yes, it will improve in the long run. a POC network isn't a long term project - using what we've learnt during the POC time and putting that into practice in a production environment is.

Nothing personal but we keep hearing this.
We heard it every 3 months or so when AfriRed went belly up.
We heard when we were all promised 2 shiny new poc's.
Now 3 months later (ironically) we are hearing them again.
I am usually quite patient but this is bordering ridiculous.

And just to add AH - as you know due to my exchange - p2p is usually the only thing that works for me during peak times and now that is borked.
So basically I cannot use my internet during every week night and most week ends.

Why are you posting in this thread if you have no POC feedback to share?

And not everyone has terrible network performance on Afrihost. 99% of the time I've been with Afrihost, including this recent turbulence, has been great. The account is unshaped 24/7 - P2P works 24/7, there are no throttling limits or warning letters, gaming is fine, streaming is fine and browsing is also fine. Any other ISP would charge much more for the privilege. So if you don't have major issues, why leave?

well vox has just upgraded my 100gb/month account to 150gb/month, for free, and roll over still apply.
So I will stay to help till the end of the month to see what happens and then I'm probably gone for good.

As mentioned in previous posts, Afrigreen has been setup for exactly this reason.
