Afrihost price increases announced

After like doubling the data price (remember the double data thing where it was much cheaper than Cell C, Cell C did not change its prices and now it’s insanely more expensive), you increase it again...

Simple assessment of why I’m not customer anymore.

I personally do not have an issue with this, I will be paying R10 more whoopi dooo, you can't even buy a coke for R10.

The large majority of our costs are input costs (especially for our broadband network) for providing services.

Remember that we still run month to month contracts, so our shareholders wouldn't make a decision to make a small amount of money but lose our clients. In fact, clients have 30 days before the increases come in. So our shareholders would definitely not approve the change unless absolutely necessary for business reasons.

OK. Fair enough and thanks for responding.

200gb shaped capped account
R199 +R10 = R209

Not that big deal. As long as your service gets better I dont care

I don't get everyone being up in arms about this, R10 or R20 doesn't even get you a coffee, beer, pack of smokes or bigmac these days.

I do agree with you, R10-R20 is neither here nor there, but after medical, electricity, VAT, fuel levies, and every other general item/service in our lives has gone up in price but your salary remains the same or has only gone up by maybe inflation + 1 or 2% those R20’s start adding up.

@AfriMan can I just confirm some details. For those with Afrihost Plus - is it the package only that goes up by the said amounts or Afrihost plus too (which I am presuming is an addon) will also increase in price as well?

Should have increased all prices by R100, fired all your drones, and hired some competent support staff - your ship & reputation is fast sinking.

Increased?

We wouldn't want to say that spending any more is negligible. But we're glad to be able to cap increases at R10 and R20 and absorb the rest.

I think our guys work really hard, and that's maybe a little unfair. They do their absolute best to assist in every situation and generally speaking I think the majority of our clients have a good experience. I do acknowledge the experiences shared here on this forum, and I'm not saying we're perfect.

But these are not "drones", these are people with families, some of whom read these threads. We always respect our clients, let's keep it on that level :)

I'm sure the CEO and staff got raises and bonuses though

Our financial year is at the end of the year, and we will definitely have to review in terms of the company's profitability. However, the staff work incredibly hard and it would be unfair (in my opinion) to punish them for harsh economic conditions. They also have to face risings costs and make their salaries go as far as possible.

As far as I am aware, it would affect your products and Afrihost Plus.

No I do agree I'm just so sick of prices going up

I will say well done to Afrihost for coming here and taking it on the chin. I don't see any other providers doing it when this sort of kark news is dropped.

I beg to differ... And if you saw some of the support tickets I've had to endure from your drones you might side with me. Maybe you should pay more attention to what really goes on with drone-support.

I know the feeling. My medical aid has gone up by like R100 (even though I've only been on it a few months) and our security company fees increased so many times I was paying double what I signed up for three years later.

We're really glad that we've been able to avoid increases in the past, and I know our Directors are gutted that it's the only option right now :(

Yeah, I don't think you get my point. :(
