Would this explain the drop in speeds during peak hours?
 
Hopefully some assistance. Best method to upgrade to a higher package ala 500Mbps for just a few days, not keen to spend the additional R400 for a full month when I definitely won't be using it the whole month.
 
Hey Guys,

Please can someone assist me, it's been 8 days, and nothing has moved with my order for a new line in a new apartment of ours and the tenants are moving in at the start of the new month. I know the notice said one week and that Openserve would bring fiber into the premises however, there is already a line and just need to install a terminal which the old tenant removed.

Hi

Unfortunately that is not possible as we are currently in billing run a downgrade will be queued for the end of next month.

Mostly Akamai but also LimeLight which is now called Edg.io

Afrihost is part of a trial where Edg.io partnered with Seacom to run the local caches for Edg.io so once traffic for Disney+ switches to Edg.io the traffic will come from Dar Es Salaam, Nairobi or Kampala. The JHB node has not been handed over to Seacom yet.

Anyone else experiencing some packet loss on Afrihost and Frogfoot currently?

Been getting around 2% packet loss for the past few days now, or is this normal? I haven't experienced this before.

Had 9.9.9.9, 1.1.1.2 set in the router. Now I have default ISP DNS set which fixed Brave speed:

Weird that it had no effect with Firefox.

Whats the peering situation with Seacom these days? Last I remember they were adament about paid peering only. Would be rather silly to host local caches on specific network that doesn't believe in or conform to an open peering policy.

Yes, also having lots of instances of packet loss, but mine is coming in spikes, with it hitting 100% packet loss probably once a day.

Afrihost + FrogFoot in Cape Town
