There is a major fibre break affecting our international traffic from JHB since around 10:20am. We have now decided to reroute traffic via CPT to mitigate. Latency and traffic should improve now.

Could this be the cause of my on off connection issues today? Every 5 minutes I lose connection for around 30 seconds. Pings to local speedtest servers went from 6ms to 34ms.
Haven't seen that since the ADSL days.![]()
Openserve, Centurion. This should have only affected international traffic this morning and only from JHB.
This sound like FNO related. What FNO are you using and area?
Openserve, Centurion.
Speedtest automatically selects Port Elizabeth as closest server where it always selected Pretoria or Randburg previously.
Hi.Hi, on Openserve here in CPT.
Seems like my speeds are limited to 50Mbps, on a 200 line. Have tried resetting our ONT, no luck.
Could I grab some help?
Still getting 413ms to Fortnite Asia ServersSo has there been route changes to SEA servers...? How tf am I getting 125ms to SEA now? Used to be like 300+, I swear.

These were the only changes made on Saturday.Ahh that makes sense. So our primary transit is Telkom IPNet which is now called Openserve Web Reach. We dropped them in JHB due to cable breaks causing huge amount of packetloss. Currently we rerouted the transit via CPT and use our own NLD to get the traffic back to JHB so if you test to Telkom or SAIX speedtest servers it will be via CPT currently.
You can test any other network and it should default to JHB.
Never mind, it's labelled as SEA, but checking connections, it's actually an AWS server in the ME lolThese were the only changes made on Saturday.
Lol then the ping is 100% correctNever mind, it's labelled as SEA, but checking connections, it's actually an AWS server in the ME lol
